    Poet's Picks
I'm starting my own tennis thread because it makes me more accountable. My posted plays in most sports hit at about a 65-70% clip, so I'm gonna post and only try to bet on plays I post.

First play. WTA--V Williams -4 over Errani: 2 units

i've setup a segregated stake for these, poet...

what bet-sizing regime will u adhere to (eg. "1u to 4u, increments of 0.5u" or "1u to 10u, increments of 1u")...
always good to know at the outset the max calibre of the bullets to be fired
      _________
if it's at all possible to change the title of a thread...a slight modification to "Poet's Prosaic Picks" would hit the nail on the head

      ___________

I'm big on h2h, even if "ancient" or "different surface"...especially so if there's an "oh" on one side....so i like this pick, and asked my question to know if the 2u's here is S-M-L-XL on the poet betsize scale

Not sure if I can change the title now. Yours sounds much better though. Units, units, units. Max units will be 5. And a unit is a 100 bucks for me.

hopefully the catty vet is tanking the entire first battle ...to save resources for the next two...

let's hope she isn't thinking about which of her many houses is going to get the extension her USO-2014 appearance fee will finance...

ahh, WTAse (Women's Tennis As "sports entertainment")...you'd have to go down to hi-school boy's tennis to have a better crack at witnessing a "6006" scoreline...

This is what happens when you bet on women. All venus needed to do, after not showing up for the first set, was to put away an easy overhead leading 1-0 at 30-30 in the 3rd set, and she missed it. She had won 7 games in a row, about to make it 8, an Errani was reeling . It could have been worse. Like betting on Halep or Kerber.

5 unit play for tomorrow coming up. No more women or wusses.

Gonna sprinkle a unit on Kornscriber also at the + money. Korn knocked the big man out of the 2012 and 2013 USO plus they had a great hard court match earlier in the year. Also isner ankle has to be a concern.

Sorry for high jacking your thread. U seem to see things like I do alot so I will pay close attention to your thread.

No worries, Sluggy. Here is what I love about betting on Robredo: win or lose you will get your moneys worth. If he is down a set or two, he will keep coming and grinding. No hissy fits, no nerves, no fatigue, no lack of motivation, and no retirement. If Tommy takes the first set the kid will be in real trouble. Tommy is looking to make a deep run here and after the close call he had yesterday (against a very tough customer) I'm sure he will be that much more focused. Tommy is no Seppi and Youz, and we are getting him for almost even money. I may put a unit on Korn (for value) but I have a feeling Isner will come through. Last year he was real tired from all the tennis. He is much fresher this time around.

He was a huge favorite in the last 2 rounds and came through. He is a co-favorite this time around. His record at the USO speaks for itself. Not saying he can't lose but I rather bet my money on this guy (at even money) than most players.

No fair!!! Andujar played an epic match the next round against Nadal. Pablo was just on fire those 2 matches.

Yes Tommy has tanked a few matches this year but at this stage in his career he is looking ahead at his schedule and is conserving his energy. The loss to Mahut was laughable, but he obviously wanted time for good rest before the USO

I'm on Robredo again against Stan, no matter the line. F u c k Stan!

Stan the Man at -160 to win 10 units. I did a mini write-up on the match in the Stan/Nish thread. Good luck.
