Makarova matches up well enough against Li to take a set today.

These two have met four times and three of those matches went the distance in three sets. Safarova took a set from Li and Makarova's game is very similar to hers, both are lefties but Makarova's groundstrokes are a tadbit more solid than Safarova's

Now I'm not sure if Mak can win the full match against Li because the savvy veteran seems to always find a way to win but she will take a set and +105 are excellent odds for her to do so.

Said it before, think Makarova would have had a better chance if Li had not just played a lefty. Really think it gave Li fantastic prep for this match. Obviously differences between Safarova and Makarova ... but as a player you would love to get to play two lefties in a row if you have to play a lefty.
