Well I wholeheartedly disagree with you. I've watched the tour for a very long time also. If that;s your assesment of Pospisil then fine. Never insulted you or disrespected you with it, but I just couldn't say nothing when I find them to be the most two biggest polar opposites.
In my eyes. Monfils stands far further behind the baseline and doesn't take the ball on the rise. Pospisil does. Whilst Monfils has weapons, he relies primarily on his movement and athletic ability to allow him to counterpunch and shotmake from defensive positions. He runs balls down and makes himself difficult to beat. Winning ugly, Brad Gilbert style, playing the ball with netclearance and deep to the baseline but not with necc much power. (Slang term moonballing) He'll do this to most of his opponents until they give him a short ball for him to attack. Pospisil on the other hand relies on offensive ballstriking and being the "immediate" aggressor, his emphasis generally is to attack and dash into the net on good approach plays. That's his bread and butter, he would prefer not to be running around the court like a headless chicken ala monfils and he never does so, really.
In simpler words. Monfils is a defensive player that can play aggressive and does so occasionally, slightly more as he';s gotten older and Posposil is an attacking player that can play defensive and does so occasionally. One's a grinder, who's favourite surface is clay and the others an attacking ballstriker who's game is built off their serve and forehand (One two punch) and closing off the net when the opponent is struggling to defend well.
Was actually looking for your opinion but becaue you called two player's whom are very different in my view, sort of similar, I simply brought you up on that, as naturally anyone would?
