I certainly believe Mr. Laverty. My 5dimes account was also hacked a couple of months back. I logged in one morning to see my balance had at first been reduced to $230 from 5-figure range. I immediately ran to the phone and called in. By the time I got the rep to understand that my account was in control of someone else playing in the casino ( I am not a casino player ), my balance starting showing a balance of $50,000 and kept growing as I spoke to the rep. By the time my account got shut down, the balance was over $100,000. 5dimes was able to see that someone from some other country had logged in and somehow taken more than my balance to the casino -- so they had no problems reducing my balance to what it was supposed to be. They advised me to check for malware, and just like Mr. Lavery, I found two trojan viruses. I am sure that this hacker would have tried to withdraw or chip dump if he had more time before I discovered him playing. But you can't assume that a hacker won't just lose someone else's money just for the fun of it. I had that happen at Absolute poker. Someone took 2k out of my account to play with at higher stakes than I play. When I tried to get Absolute to repay the 2k, their investigator claimed that he did not think the hacker chip dumped my chips, he was just having fun with my money. So even tho they knew someone hacked my account ( they figured it was my fault ), and they knew who he lost my money to, they would not help me. This is why I have no problem believing what is posted here!

Not true at all. Many Greek customers where not even allowed to have their accounts transferred. If they don't like steam chasers all they have to do is add delay and problem solved. Tony gave you several chances to back off and retain your account. If the amount lost in the casino was a drop in the bucket, and you are up mid 5 figures over the account life; then the value of having an open account trumps everything else. Have the casino blocked, enable the option that whenever a bet is made that a copy is sent to your email which then sends to your phone.

Instead losing the ability to retain calmness, your ego rode roughshot over an admitted pittance to you. GG 5dimes account and the ability to bet a variety of sports/props.

So the hacker/BP employee/BP affiliate instead placed a whole ream of 4 and 5 team parlays on NCAA tourney games. It was exactly this time of year, and many of the parlays were completely filled with games that would not start from 24-48 hours AFTER the time I contacted BP. Those dirty scumbags waited until the parlays were all sure losers and then made the decision that all bets would stand. I think I pissed them off by immediately making a thread about the hack here on SBR, but I am not sure.

So these things do happen. Be careful guys.

1. 5Dime's handling of passwords is the absolute worst way to do it. Contact live chat... they ask you for your account number and password. So not only can every single CS employee see your password, but they constantly want you to type it into a live chat whose client may not be completely secure. They also ask you to EMAIL them your account number and password in certain situations. This is something that an A book like 5Dimes really needs to change.

2. I had a very strange experience with 5Dimes this year. I tried to log in and could not. It was not taking my password. Given my past experience with BP, and knowing about 5Dimes stupid policies concerning CS and passwords, I was immediately scared shitless. I contacted live support and they told me that I had to change my password. Hmmm... that is weird. But I was just happy when they told me my account was NOT hacked and all my money was there. So I changed my password. T

The next time I try and log in, it did not work. I contacted live chat and they told me I must talk to the GM (Tony). They transfered me to him and he told me I need a new password. WTF? I ask and am told my account was not hacked. I gave him a new password. From that point on, everything worked. But one day I was looking through past transcations on my account and I noticed that their was a casino adjustment of about $21K for my account... I didn't notice it before because when the whole issue happened, I had been checking the betting history for suspicious activity. This does not show all transactions (just bets placed and graded). I never made an issue of it though, so I have no idea what happened.

I also want to state that 5Dimes is a legit A book in my experience and I have never had a problem with Tony. In fact, most every time people here are complaining about him, I tend to agree with how he handled the situation.

Could you comment on 5Dimes' methods of dealing with customer passwords? I am talking about how they insist you type your account number and password into live chat and also how they sometimes insist that you email their CS your account number and password. It seems they need to be nudged into adopting safer internal policies.

Did he win big at their casino before and he was trying to do it again? Just look at his betting style. Sounds from what we have read so far that the op didn't even touch their casino in many years. Tony knows it. 5dimes knows it. They just ignore it. They don't want to pay the op because of lack of evidence! Other books had this issue resolved fairly with the op and they are even willing to help with this case. 5dimes is very overrated having rude management like this. Other real A+ rated books would have looked at the player's looong history and would have treated him differently.

I used the live casino a few times in the last 6 months... haven't touched it and its been closed since early January at the latest...
