Two LasPalmas (SBR rating B-) players report waiting for a total amount of $40,000 originally requested in June and July. The book was unable to offer a reason for delays to these large winners. A third player, who has been using the sportsbook for three years, is waiting for a four figure sum. He was told that he cannot withdraw his funds for two weeks without paying processing fees and forfeiting a $500 reload bonus. The sportsbook cites a 30 day hold bonus rule that clearly applies only to "new players," as the reason for these conditions.

#9My recent payout experience with Las Palmas has been good. Now I requested a 4 figure withdrawal from them 2 weeks ago and it took about 4 business days - that was slower than I'm used to with them - but they warned me from the start there was a temporary processor problem and kept me informed every step of the way.
Payouts prior to that have been ~next day.
Reports like this make me wonder. That doesn't sound like Las Palmas at all. How do you even run up balances like that with their low limits?
Anyway, what is there to say? Hopefully we will be kept apprised of any updates.
(Also, I have to say, kudos to SBR for reporting this. Las Palmas is a sponsor in the Beat The Prick contest. So many forums would be dishonest and hide this kind of news from their members. I don't know what will become of this but in any case, this illustrates why SBR is such a valuable resource in the industry.)Comment -

#13They jerked me around on a 30k payout a few years ago, but paid. It just took a month.
This is longer though. But like last time, no explanation was offered.Comment -

#16Las Palmas probably thought they could delay some winners, who took home a good six figs combined in the past, until football action. The players had enough. Right now they are being offered alternate methods which they should have received prior. The book has never stiffed a player and I think everyone will be paid soon. We will monitor the situation and there will be further downgrades if these players aren't treated right.Comment -

Basically just sounds like a smaller type book taking on more than it can handle. Obviously if you're looking for a place to dump over 10k, this isn't the place, but for the vast majority of SBR posters I don't think this news really matters much.Comment -

#18You have a very loose interpretation of the term "scambook".

#19Well I advise you to ship a big load of your cash to them and enjoy waiting months for your payout with no explanation as to why you are getting slow paid, to most of us that would be a concern and what separates A+ books from scambooks. It's very easy to defend a book when you're not the one being slow/no paid but put yourself in the shoes of these 2 dudes owed 40k for months, would you be banging your head against the wall or just saying oh well no biggie, they must've taken on more action than they could handle, well they'll pay me when they can I suppose
you won't have a problem getting paid quickly by this bookComment -

#22I doubt you'll be keeping a 20k balance either there donny, but the idea is that when a book starts refusing payouts to any players it's a sign that the book is cash strapped and in danger, if a book can't cover 40k in payouts do you even want to have your 1k balance there? Or in Donjuans case your $10 balance there?Comment -

this book has stalled large payouts to sharp players for years. it's bull shit, but i highly doubt they can't actually pay. it's more of a **** off to players that beat them. that way they can continue to say they take professional action.
as i said before, if you get lucky and win, you will get paid promptly.
and yes, it's a bit discouraging to see sbr promote this book, but betonline does the same thing. the reason i like sbr, is bbd is free to post this (and justin the same). you wouldnt see a thread like this anywhere elseComment -

#31Give those guys that have been ripped off for 40k 90 cents on the dollar I'm sure they'd take it and I haven't been slow/no paid yet as they won't even let me request a cashout b/c they came up with some BS rule that since I deposited via CC I can't request a payout for 3 weeks (which I've never heard of anywhere), if they don't pay me for months like they did those dudes I'll take you up on that offer.Last edited by bettilimbroke999; 09-11-08, 03:56 PM.Comment -
