    WilliamHill ridiculous
    Hi guys,
I am new to online gambling, I am used to bet by my local offline shop, but everything moves online so I moved even my money online.

I have chosen WilliamHill, deposited 500USD and I was able to bet only 100-200 usd on NBA. WTF? I am used to bet 500 usd sometimes more and I know I am not biggest bettor. Curiuos from where the big winners come since with 100 usd maxbet it is pretty hard to win big.

I will try to move over since at least William Hill is complete crap. I asked them to close my account and as I promised to their customer service: I am sharing this funny experience with this funny bookmaker.

Books are free to limit players however they want. Will Hill is definitely a rec-book. AS long as they pay you your balance, all is fair.

I accept that argument but this bookie is one of the very biggest in the world.

Surely a punter is entitled to expect them to accept larger wagers than that on a relatively high profile sport/competition?

I just love reading terms and conditions provided by the bookies.

For example, will hill on maximum winnings:
American Football (NFL); Athletics World/European Championships; Baseball (MLB); Basketball (NBA); Boxing/UFC/MMA; Cricket; Ice Hockey (NHL); Motor Sports; Olympic Games; Snooker; Tennis
            £100,000

Would I need to fly to UK, go to their main office and thoroughly present my bet to be allowed to place it?

In these days, you don't need to be an arber to get limited, just to win some bets...

About the topic, if you are not an arber, bet on Pinnacle and forget crap euro books.

Yeah right, bookies know after few bets are you an arber or not. And what if you placed few bets with odds that are above average on the market, is this a criminal act. Man you are a joke, so as Will Hill is.

I'm certainly not an arber (or a steam chaser) and have been limited at a score or more books.

So you need to do what? Chase steam? Bet on out of line odds? Isn`t this the same? Don`t say that you won too much money with square odds and they limited you

Punters such as I will obviously bet where we can find the best odds for the player/team/horse we want to back. That's just plain commonsense. The game operates on very tight margins so you have to get top odds if you want to make a reasonable POT.

The fact that those same best odds will often also attract arbers and steam chasers is what brings about our undoing with most books. They lump us all in together as undesirable players.

So you are practically saying that sportsbooks like Will Hill just want stupid people to bet with them. And when I say stupid, don't mean literally stupid, but why to play there where the odds are 1.8 instead 1.9, it's not a clever thing to do, is it? Their odds juice is high, this is good starting protection from arbers, but if you are a bookie don't just sit down and eat pizza on your shift, watch the market so you will not have highest odds on the market and so many arbers, steam chaser or whatever you call people who know what are they doing. If you have starting odds 1.85 -1.85 and Pinnacle has 1.95 -1.95 it's a complete lack of responsibility and ignorance to allow yourself high amount of arb bets. And what to say about their live betting on NBA with 15s delay and lack od odds for current quarter (while all other British books have this, 365, lads, VC...). You must be working for them or I don't see a reason to stand in a defense of such a crappy book.

Did you ask them? I can bet $500 plus there but I always try to avoid getting my bet "referred to a trader" and not more. I bet 1k on NFL superbowl alternate lines no problem. Your max bet could be a function of your deposit size.
