The local 7-11s here have ** stations. However I never used them so don't know if you can use them to send money. Is anyone familiar with these machines?

We have them here in Australia and yes they work from what I've been told. I think I may have posted a pic of one at some point along the line and others chimed in that they used them as well. If I didn't do it here, I did it somewhere but people were definitely saying that they worked to at least send. Not sure about the receiving part though.

I went to use this today and they have a phone that you use to talk to an operator and you can do the whole thing right there.Comment -

Yah, they have the red phone in every CVS where I live. You talk directly to the agent not some nimrod convenience store employee. They download it to the terminal and the store takes the payment and prints your receipt. i have at least 5 ** locations within 2 miles of where I live.Comment -
They work fine. The only annoying thing is the cash u put into the machine.Comment -

Yeah, I can't go back to other methods now. Not to mention the fees are way cheaper than other services.Comment
