    More Vegas Sportsbook Consolidation
    Cantor Gaming will take over the Venetian and Palazzo books.

    Two of the last independent books on the strip will be taken over by Cantor Gaming. Cantor currently runs the books at The Cosmopolitan, Tropicana, Hard Rock, and M Resort. My guess is that this has to do either with a patent Cantor holds over live betting hardware and/or a cost cutting measure by Sheldon Adelson, who isn't shy about treating his employees like dirt.

    Venetian was a worthless out scared of action and screwed over Tomato several times with their ticket writing. Don't need more Cantor outs but this wasn't a place you could get good money down at.

      I made two $1K bets there on small market stuff (UFC and a boxing total). "Good money" is relative I suppose.

          Given William Hill's purchase of Leroy's, Lucky's, and Cal-Neva, which should be finalized by spring of 2012 by the employees I've spoken with at Leroy's and Cal-Neva, the list of Las Vegas lines will look like this (with an * for dine lines in baseball):

          * Las Vegas Hilton
          * South Point
          * Coasts Casinos
          * Stations Casinos
          * Cantor Gaming
          * William Hill (I hope they keep dime lines)
          * Golden Nugget
          Wynn (I guess you would call them 15 cent lines)
          Stratosphere
          Treasure Island
          Caesar's Properties
          Mirage/MGM Properties

          Am I missing anyone at this point (I guess Jerry's Nugget but that may be the smallest book I've ever been in and I'm sure it is likely to go away soon too).

            You can subtract another from your list above - Cantor signed a 10 year agreement last May to run the sportsbooks of Caesar's Entertainment.

                  Stations Casinos via their Sports Connection. However it's not for the big bettor.

                    Sportsbook consolidation is not good for bettors.

                    I play @ Red Rock, Suncoast, and Rampart. All have different lines, which allows me to get down on the best price for my given bet. I try not to bet @Red Rock too often, b/c they profile

                      You're never getting the best price on anything at Rampart.

                        Wow, that just ruined my day.

                        This is sick. It's like Cantor is playing Monopoly with William Hill.

                            This is horrible for people who shop around,..... Limiting there options will take money out of the bettors pockets in the long run.

                                                i stayed at the m a few times, i think cantor runs a good book. i am sure it hurts the vegas locals since they are losing another out but for someone who goes to vegas once a year i like the cantor operation. 10 cent baseball lines, football lines for the whole year and competative future odds. i hope they do well
