Which part is the illegal part? The doing business with US citizens or using a US bank?

They make more money in US than rest of the world combined.

When Pinnacle left US, they lost 60% of their customer base and revenue. But it survived because of its brand name.

Smaller books cant survive outside of US and cant compete with the top notch European books.

The bottom line is...US is where all the money is in. Thats why all the books want a piece of it. They dont mind skipping lot of legal hoops for it.

The money is just too god to pass up. Ask any book operators and they all say the same, 95% of gamblers lose longterm.

For sites like 5dimes the U.S market is pretty much their bread and butter. The rest of the world use "famous" books like betfair, Bet365, bwin, etc.

I don' think for most books the reward is worth the risk anymore. the casual bettors they make most of their money from will be gone, so that just leaves the clients that they probably would rather not have.

All the Costa Rican books are not going down, just BetED did. There are hundreds of books in Costa Rica. They do business with the U.S. because it is profitable for them to do so, and they can operate legally in Costa Rica.

I'm asking why most of US facing bookies still accept only $ deposits. There are potentially a lot of European bettors that would punt on US sports, if only could deposit with their currency.
How can Matchbook still accept only $ deposits while they accept no more US customers?
If I lose 4% through double currency conversion, I prefer to use domestic books even with 20c lines instead 10c (or Betfair).

You aren't the sharpest tool in the shed. Do you wonder why Beted and Bookmaker had problems? They used a fed processor.

Without the US customer base there would be FAR fewer books.

Why don't they stay open to the US and take Weestern Unionn or MooneyGrammmmm....Easy in/out and the fees are negligable.

because they don't care europeans and asians. even most off-shore books don't accept customers from out of US/Can or accept but don't offer sign-up bonus. I go to bank and send some money by MGrrrr/Wuuu and recieve payout by same methods...Like you said, there is some currency conversion but some of books offer bonus and it covers easily.
Meanwhile you know, a lot of european countries don't use euro, UK, scandinavian countries, Switzerland,Turkey and some of eastern european countries so adding EURO currency is not a solution..but I agree completely your thought about Matchbook

its not over stop spreading panic , the feds set up 2 shops not the whole offshore industry and the only reason there is no beted.ag or beted.eu is because they did not want to stay in busines..

You can offer shit odds, shit customer service, zero financial security and you will get an enormous number of clients.

There are not many other industries that you can say that about.
