Of course the could, but they don't want to because their end game is to make a little dent in Betfair and then sell out on the potential for becoming a real competitor. As the dude said in the interview, their lawyers told them with that end game in mind be sure you're cool with the US government so they don't much up the sale.

What you say makes sense, but for some reason only in theory. People bet decent amounts at bases also at Betfair who doesn´t allow US players either.
