BETFAIR steal casino winning funds and withhold main exchange blanace

BetFair recently had a promotion where you could gain an unlimited amount of casino bonus' in a 3 hour period. The rollover for this was 10X bonus with roulette counting 50%, so X20 on roulette and 12 additional hours in which to meet any wagering once a bonus had been claimed
No I am sure people can see where this is going. Having such a generous offer with such low wagering requirements is begging to be hit and hit hard. This was open to all clients.

Anyway I did hit it hard. I processed a withdrawal and the following day logged back into my betfair account to see a popup message saying my account was suspended. No further info and no contact from betfair. I emailed and asked wtf was going on and all I got told was my account was closed pending investigation.
Now fair enough, I hit them hard and they wanted to check stuff out, but I got to thinking. surely as the funds had been transferred out of my casino account which is regulated in Malta and into my main Betair account which is UK regulated then they had no grounds to deny me access to my funds. Not all funds in the account went through the casino. I had just plain old exchange funds as well. So basically they were denying me access to not only casino winnings but my own funds. They would not allow any withdrawal to go through, no returning of funds, no explanation, just a straifght lock down of the account. I am a uk resident before anybody asks about where I was playing from.

On more investigation I see potentially thousands of others have been caught up in this. There is a forum in the UK whose members seem to have been hit hard. There are rumours that not only have Betfair confiscated winnings but additional funds. Now I have no idea if that is true but I would not bet against it. Also it appears some of those who claimed a bonus and started on the wagering had there bonus taken from there account whilst they were playing. Basically Betfair got spooked and pulled the plug
My own situation as it stands is that my account is now open after 4 days and all casino winnings have been removed. No apology just an email saying I did not play in a true spirit and funds have been taken back.

I have since made complaints to several bodies in the UK about all of this. Be interesting to see where this goes.

However I have complaints in with them, and regulating bodies in the uk already. I would like to follow this up by myself so I am fully in control of all info that comes my way. Again thank you though. I thought it was useful to post here however so people are aware of what betfair are now doing and how they treat there customers

Basically betfair are in panic and this matter has grown to be a major issue. The issue keeps getting passed from department to department, and is effecting a great many people.
They refuse to answer any questions as to why they denied access to main betfair accounts and retain funds for a period of time that were not casino related.
They are also insisting the promo they ran was not actually unlimited. Apparently unlimited to them means £100. All the info they sent out regarding the promo before hit happened could not have been any clearer. The offer was 50% bonus upto £100 as many times as you liked in a 3 hour period with 12hours to meet the rollover requirement.

I will keep plugging away at them. I have no intention of letting this one just fizzle out and will take any legal measures possible to me to get answers as to what gives them the right to do what they have done.
It is a dirty trick what they have done and not one you would expect from a company of betfair's standing.
