OK, I understand what a "bad line" is.

But every book that voids your wagers and cuts your limits told you their court judged you are guilty of "take a shot" or for "steam play"

especially US facing books like this BS, never heard this bullsh!t from European books

It's one of the many ways U.S players are at a huge disadvantage.

An example of steam play is if almost every book on the screen moves from -3 / +3 to -3.5 / +3.5 and you bet it at -3 at a book which is slow to move the line.

lol...come on moonbeam, you know exactly what it means as arber.
They don't like ppl that beat them to the second of a significant line move, there would be more books like WSEX around now i guess if you could just do that in peace.

you may not have heard it expressed in that language (Yankspeak) but sure as hell the Euro books do it and I can't believe you don't know all about it.

I agree with moonbeam, europan books never say to us "this is a bad line" or "there is a steam play" etc...They limited us and some of scumbag highschool student bookies (like bwin) cancel bets. already "bed line" and "steam play" american bettors' slang. by the way what does it mean "take a shot"? really I don't know

Every single one of them (excluding exchanges of course) will limit you severely for "steam chasing"

I guess "you take a shot at us" is the standard slang for US bookies to void bets (or don´t void losing bets) if they don´t want to pay you and if they they don´t want to have buiseness with you any longer

It´s ok when a book limits you (for whatever).
It´s not ok if a book acting against their own rules and cheats you like 5Dimes.

                    This is pure cheating

Their fuggin CS called me a "shot taker", but in the end they took a shot at me.

Hareeba, in my opinion most european books flagged the sports, not the odds... there are a lot of ways not to become limited with books like willhill, ladbrokes etc

There is a big difference between taking a shot or playing an obviously bad line - and betting steam.

There is nothing wrong with betting steam, but many books will cut limits and do other things to steam players to limit their losses.

Firstly I would think betting only one sport might suggest you are a sharp specialist in that sport as opposed to someone betting on everything that moves

I was betting probably 95% tennis when I ran foul of them all but I wouldn't waste that much effort to bet only 150 Euro. And arbs are not my go either - so little reward for so much effort.

I disagree with your first point

Why would they cancel a bet if the lines have moved. The average person doesn't have access to know if the lines are moved and just made a bet. I for one don't look or know when the lines move, I just place my bet as I see it. Sure it would suck for me if the lines would be in my favor 5 minutes later, you don't see me complaining, but would the book cancel the bet and tell you there are better new lines. No they won't they would happily take the bet and cancel any bet that is not in their favor.

Now I am in no way saying this ever happen to me as it never did but from reading your comments about the book canceling the wager is pure bs.

Sportsbook.com basically clones bwin for soccer and tennis.

Shot takers / arbers / steam chasers can murder them in that dept.

i have not been limited at several eu books despite avoiding -EV bets. there must be more to the limiting customers than just circling out +ev bettors.

Moonbeam, you are the very definition of a SHOT TAKER. You do it all the time and then have the nerve to trash the books when they won't let you get away with it.
