Hi, I'm trying to make a deposit by Debit Card and they say they need my checking account number for it to process. Why would it be needed and should I do it?

They probably want to process an instant deposit -- they should be asking for a debit card number, or a checking/routing number, but not both. Very strange.Comment -
As much as I despise those lying scumbags at BP, it always cracks me up to see people react with fear and suspicion when a business asks for their bank account number. They always seem to forget that every single time you give someone a personal check, you have given them your bank name and your bank account number. It's really not as dangerous as it sounds.Comment -
If your a US player there not processing VI/** (especially debit cards), so they're probably trying to do an instant check. They're either being shady about it or not explaining it to you correctly.Comment -
Is this a 1st ever deposit there? I used my debt card in the past there and had no issues or was never asked for checking info. Must be something new.Comment
