    Question - Bookmaker
Saw this posted at another forum and just going from place to place to see if there is any validity at all to it. Most likely not but in this day and age you never know. If anyone knows anything factual (yay or nay) please drop a note. I have cut and pasted it so it is verbatum. Thanks

    "Topic: Warning... BookMaker customers"

"Posted: 9/5/2010 6:33:14 PMi was just on the phone with these guys and after 4 years of being a member they are going to be getting shut down by the feds. Apparently they have been under investigation for 8 months now, and the fbi supposedly has found numerous acts of cheating in there poker rooms and on the sportsbooks. I guess some a$$hole employee thought it wld be cute to hack into the system and take thousands of dollars from poker customers and on the sportsbook side they were takeing customers credit cards and placeing wagers wth there info w/o them knowing. Now this hasnt happened to me yet, thank god, but im withdrawing my 1100 from here today and going back to 5dimes or sportsinteraction. They are going to be allowing withdraws and wagers for another week but after next weekend Bookmaker will be closed dwn permanetly. Just a word of advicefor anyone who has an account wth them, be careful and if u have alot of $ in that site, take it out as son as possible bc it takes a few days to be processed. Gl if u have any questions u can call them and there customer service reps will explain."

I hate to tell you but April 1st was over 5 months ago.

Here is the reply when I contacted them about this post:

CS - Jay: I am sorry Sir, these are just bad rumors. We will not get shut down by anyone!

you: sweet I thought so but wasn't sure when I read this

    you: http://forum.sbrforum.com/sportsbook...bookmaker.html

CS - Jay: We are aware of the situation, however we are not concerned about it. Our business will remain open and our customers should have nothing to worry about...

    you: thank you

CS - Jay: You're welcome... it's my pleasure.

Not saying that Vic is right (I understand it's not his rumor, he's just passing it along.) But what do you think BM is going to say to you? Of course they would deny the rumor and assure you as an active customer.

Thanks for the reply guys. Like I said I pulled this from another poster at another site. Just looking around to see if anyone had heard or read anything. I could not find anything on the net about it. Thanks again

I just talked to someone at BookMaker about this

No truth to the story at all

Sorry to disappoint those who were hoping it was true

This is silly...probably someone having fun shaking up another board. The US can't close down companies in other countries and if it could it wouldn't do so because it was governing the poker room. You'll see small books get in trouble after owners get picked up by authorities when traveling in the US but it's not for the manner they operate their gaming company in another jurisdiction. Neither apply to BM

My thoughts exactly. Remember people, the USA in not the governing body of the world no matter how much we try...
