    BetOnSports ... What If ???
What would have happened had BOS not gotten busted by the feds and had their funds seized ?

I know that BOS is widely despised for a few reasons, not the least of which is because many people lost a lot of money ...

But the small issue I have is that I hear a lot of self-proclaimed prophets bragging because they say they "called" the BOS downfall and subsequent stiffing that resulted ... problem is, they were "right for the wrong reasons" ... most (or all) of these people simply claimed that BOS were going to shut down, head for the hills, and stiff the players, and cited the bad apples in BOS management as the primary reason this would happen ... none (or very very few) actually predicted that the shutdown/stiffing would be a result of government confiscation of funds.

So what would have happened if the government hadn't stepped in ... would all of these armchair Nostradamus's have been right, or would BOS still be alive and kicking ?

Being that I got stuck good by those bastards,I can say that 2 payments I was supposed to receive before they got popped were in the 45 day mode.I would say that they were another cascade in the making as Kaplan was spreading money all over in land deals but was failing to pay the players,it was only a matter of time.

But wasn't that money that Kaplan had already gotten as a result of the IPO ? That wasn't money he was taking from the corporation, was it ? I didn't even think he had access to company funds after the stock offering ... that was part of the reason that the British suits were brought in, was it not ?

I had mid-5 figures there a couple of months before their demise, but I got limited and mildly screwed over on some slow-moving lines that I bet, so I took almost all of it out .... got paid fast, but then again, I was using Neteller, whcih was almost always fast.

How much did the gov't seize? I was under the impression they just kept players funds for legal fees and fines and could have at least paid something out.

Kaplan cut the E. District of Missouri DOJ 45 mil and they told everyone to file a claim threw their office. The DOJ sent me 20+ letters updating me on the case before saying that I wasn't getting sh*&. This is one of the many reasons a bitter ex-pat that loves to talk shit on everything U.S. and spend hours helping anyone evade taxes.

Since I am one of the few that called the demise of the shit book BetOnSports. Warned everyone at The Rx, EOG, Major Wager, LVA, and SBR they were house of cards. Only a handful of people heeded the warning.

I called it for all the right reasons. They were crooks. They stole money from players. They owned many sportsbooks and were operating with players deposit funds.

BOS boasted they were insured by the Lloyds of London. It was all a lie. It was one red flag after another with these shysters. The minute they ran into trouble, BOS folded like a cheap suit.

Why the us goverment seized bos's funds and arrested their co-founders? Why they didn't arrest other online gambling site's employers or managers? How come just "bet on sports" were troubled by us goverment?

No, Chuck, you called it for the WRONG reasons.

The things that you claim were likely all correct, but they were NOT the reason that BOS shut down. You can (and do) say virtually the same thing about SBG Global and Bet Us, but they haven't shut down ... they just keep on chugging along.

The reality is that the reasons that BOS shut down have nothing to do with the things you said. They were shut down by the U.S. government, in conjunction with the Antiguan government, in conjunction with numerous banks and payment processors. The government seized a very large chunk of money from them in the process.

In summary, they didn't "shut down" ... they "were shut down".

Because they managed to get juridstiction over one of the execs, where as most of them stay out of the reaches of US Govt/Police.

I tend to agree with Halifax, I had no problems getting money out of there up until close (I forget, but was 2-4 weeks) to when they shut down, but was also using Neteller. What would have happened had they not got caught is all pretty much conjecture at this point, but I'm not as convinced as CS they would have run off with the $.

"While other sportsbooks are scrambling to figure out a way to make payouts to their customers on a football season drawing to a close, BOS is plucking up companies at 37M at a pop! Who would you trust with your funds offshore?" -- Tom Miller, owner/partner BOS and Betmill

Halifax, you fit the poster that I constantly referred to when I warned players about BOS. "Does a house have to fall on you"?

BOS spent the players deposit money. They were a ponzi scheme.

Your reasons were wrong .. those reasons aren't the reason that they were closed down.

You have been saying virtually identical things about Bet Us and SBG Global for the past 8 years, and they haven't closed.

BOS closed because they were forced to close by government intervention, not because they were a ponzi scheme, not because they spent the players' funds on coke and whores.
