Which Bank...

do you deposit your checks at? I just recieved my first check and wondering if it matters which bank i go to. I use BoA and Wells Fargo. i appreciate any input, thanks!

Yeah you need to go to the bank that was issued on the check to cash it.

I never have any problems at BOA, usually no hold or 1 day hold.

definitely deposit at atm or night depository, so you don't have to answer any questions.

wellsfargo, BA, Citibank and chase are all fine with your check. none of them have given me any problem.

Yeah you need to go to the bank that was issued on the check to cash it.

Not really...as long as you have the funds in your account to cover if the check goes bad, you should not have a problem cashing it at your branch.

You should have no problem with a teller. People get checks from all over. If it going to be looked into it will come from a different department.

always the teller! If I deposit it, they put a 1 day hold on it (not available till the next day), if I just cash it, they always give me the cash!

I'm amazed every time I hear someone mention how they always deposit their checks at the ATM so the teller can't ask them any questions. Maybe I'm just lucky with the bank I use (large regional chain, not national, prefer not to mention it by name), but I've deposited dozens and dozens of checks over the years, all via teller, and never once have I been asked a question.
