As a rec bettor, I would have no problems using BetPhoenix. If you are betting 4 figures or more a game, you should be in The Greek or Bookmaker or somewhere else anyway.
Is betphoenix a sinking ship???

#74The single biggest factor on a book's rating is: will they pay me?
Dino owns BetDSI. This book makes a scarey amount of money. They make so much money, they give it away on stupid stuff, and don't care much.
Dino is an owner of BetPhoenix. His reputation is spotless.
If I'm wrong on any of these facts, someone tell me. Processing issues might be a pain in the ass, but right now, I would not (and did not) sweat having a big 5-figure balance there waiting for processing to pay me.
I have been to their office. I have seen their operations, how the book has matured, and some of the new areas they are attacking. They are still having some growing pains, but nothing points to a cash shortage.
If Dino dropped out of BP, I would reconsider. But as is, I would play there in a heart-beat if they would give me the full package. Sadly though, good rec-books are tough on pro players (although this is good for their long-term solvency).Comment -

This all may be true but if it is, isnt there an honest way to do things? A book that supposedly has that much money doesnt have to move lines a few cents when someone is phone betting after the player reveals who they want to play based on the line given to them by the wagering rep. Also a book doesnt have to claim that you will receive your check within 3-5 days, only to give you the runaround when you call in after those 5 days have passed. Then 3 weeks later they say that have had processor issues and the check never went out in the first place. Why all the dishonesty if they are that stable???Comment -

#77how can you lose money on a push? i guess only if you are playing at BOOKMAKER. i have never heard of a book doing this. i always want cash but have taken free play over the years. never heard of this bs. once you know the rules you can only play 1/2 points. seems odds are good most people find out after losing thier freeplay on a push.Comment -

#80It looks like they just took over Skybook. Maybe Skybook felt extra generous that day, but I would say that costs money. The family is now Betphoenix, Wagerchief, Betmania, and Skybook. I have never heard of a book that is expanding in this way without having plenty of cash. In their past is a fiasco with BetOT, where Betphoenix paid everyone.
It is possible that their primary focus, during this period, is on horizontal growth (expanding family of books), as in claiming more territory, and that the focus will shift back to populating that territory with more players once football comes around. This would be in line with the observation that their turnkeys seem to be run smoother and virtually without complaints (because there all focus is on running the book).
They may have their problems, but I don't think a lack of money is one of them.Comment -

Agreed Justin, and there is an obvious smear campaign by a few individuals who bash this book regularly......
With that said, if I were an investor in this operation, I would need to look at the folks running this book. They need less 'rules' - keep it simple so that you don't get snagged on a loophole everywhere you turn. Secondly, they need to improve payment processing -- other books do it well, there is no reason this one shouldn't either.
This book has GREAT potential, but the so-called 'growing pains' are becoming the rule and not the exception.Comment -

#86Re: the reply my original post, point #6...I am quite aware of what an independent 3rd party is..what evidence do you have to suggest SBR owns BP or has an interest in accounts held there ?!? As there is none, they are INDEPENDENT. What you are suggesting is biased, not dependent. Big difference.
As far as SBR goes, do you see them trumpeting BP on their front page with an A+...if so please direct me as I don't see it. There are plenty of b rated books without an affiliate link. Do I trust SBR without question, no...but I don't see their opin being clouded by $$. plenty of shops would gladly cut affiliate deals for ratings if this is how it worked...no upfront cost, just pay per depositing referral.Comment -

Why was Bodog downgraded over processing issues, same with the reports on Jazette. Did you believe that either of these were going to fold up shop?Comment -

You may have forgotten about BetOnSports and their ever expanding operation. Buying up books up until that house of cards collapsed.
Taking over sportsbooks that are not worth much certainly does not prove they have plenty of cash.Comment -

Awhile ago I heard they had moneybooker issues. But checks/mo had a 3 day time frame, from request to my doorsteps.
Then 3 weeks ago, they had Money order/check issues, and they kept telling me that there would be no checks for this month.
But at the same time, ******* payout request only took 3 hours.Comment -

Does it matter if it takes more or less than three weeks? They advertise a payout period and don't stick to it. That is a "slow pay". It could be a day or a month.
Bodog never had problems paying out via Neteller/Moneybookers. (Perhaps at some point, but not to the extent of the check fiasco. And during that period there were multiple reports of sub 72 hour payouts) The same applies to Jazette. Even during the height of the check problems it took mebbe a month to get a withdrawal if you weren't requesting a check. Contrast this to slow pays via every single method which have been ongoing for months at BP and family books.
I'm not arguing for BP to see ratings like these books. I'm arguing that a fair measuring stick be used for all books. You're (SBR) making up bullshit excuses for BP when you (SBR) clearly have smegma on your breath from deepthroating them. If you're going to advertise a service atleast try not to be snake oil salesmen about it.
Though if SBR wants to only grade processing speed on the basis of **/**/Wire/Check. That is their prerogative as well. Though an incredibly short sighted one.Comment -

Why would Jazette fold? They got the best model in the industry. 1) Best real estate 2) Take a ton of bets 3) If stuck, steal from sharps. Folding shop would be like eating the goose that lays golden eggs because you couldn't resist fowl that night.Comment -

#97Here's a little food for thought. About 2 months ago I requested a 2K check to be sent to me. They said it would arrive in 4-5 days. After that time had passed I started calling and getting a runaround. About 3 weeks later I talked to someone named Fred. He appologized and said he wouild send me my payouts via moneygram for free, $800 at a time but that i needed to spread them out by a few days. He put the 2k back in my acct and then I requested the first $800. I did receive the first $800 without any problems but of course started to gamble the rest and lost all of it. Needless to say i wasnt happy but i did lose the money on my own, so it was my own fault. I just wish that they wouldnt have lied in the first place. Fred then told me that because of this mess, in the future he would cover my next few moneygram payout fees. He said he put notes in my account so there wouldnt be any problems. Well, this morning, after reading all of this, I called in to request a payout via moneygram and told them that I was entiteld to a free payout (per Fred) and that there should be notes in my acct. Well guess what, no notes in my account, Fred is nowhere to be found. Just keep getting more lies. They told me to try to reach Fred tomorrow.
