I'm thinking of joining matchbook.com and I would like to know if it's any good and if so, how would you compare it to a regular sportsbook? What's the similarities and differences?

    Advantage: low vig.

Disadvantage: Limited into only betting main lines of popular games.

I personally find Matchbook to be a very good out for my wagering purposes, however to each is own I guess.

Advantage: They do offer live wagering.

Disadvantage: Funding option aren't the best for U.S. players.

For ME the best feature of MATCHBOOK is that you are allowed to win and they WON'T CUT YOU OUT (they don't give a f*ck for obvious reasons)but more importantly with MATCHBOOK if you are on a loosing streak you will be allowed to recoup and go forward. If you are new to this racket you must be surprise to read that aspect of MATCHBOOK as being something special but it is.If you read the players reviews in the rating section on SBR you will read infuriating stories from guys whom gotten victimize by U.K.(or European)base books NOT ONLY cutting players when they win BUT ALSO AS INCREDIBLE AS THIS MAY BE THEY WOULD ALSO CUT PLAYERS ON A LOOSING STREAK,denying them the opportunity to come back !!!... They will take a big bankroll from unsuspecting bettors who figures that they are investing their money in a respectable and legitimate jurisdiction only to end up being f*ck out of their money in a manner worthy of a outfit emanating out of a 3rd world mud hut!.I would have never thought in a TRILLION years that this sort of sh*t would be allowed in a jurisdiction witch i use to think as the equivalent to that of Las Vegas...But low and behold the "3rd world" in the in the offshore sportsbooks business is great britain and the rest of Europe...who would have thought that?

PS:A Honorable mention for Tradesports (but they are far, far, far, behind MATCHBOOK)

If Match continues to grow, and Pinny gets back in- as John has hinted- U.S. investors/wagerers will finally have the market we've always dreamed of.

My advice is to play Match as exclusively as you can. Best prices, increasing liquidity and no ripoff risk at all. Funding and withdrawing are delayed, but dependable. Use is simple and clean once you get the hang of it. Main drawback is lack of non-standard wagers and early liquidity. Doesn't affect me- might for you.

You mean the same Las Vegas where they bar blackjack players for playing with a positive EV?

Matchbook is IMO the best for Baseball. The last few months of last season they were only taking 1% commission, so that is usually a 3 cent line.

You can't always say, since the people set the lines there...But if Betjam has a line -160/+150 it could easily be -155/+154 at Matchbook.
