    liquidity at matchbook this AM
Liquidity not very good this morning. $500 on either side of the tv college ball games. odds are crap too, Nothing else really going on in the states today. Tempted to transfer some money somewhere else. Where do the big time US players wager who want to get decent odds? Playing at -110 I can't do anymore.

Unlike other sportsbooks Matchbook's best season is baseball. Worst is college hoops. It will be interesting to see what comes from their baseball efforts this year.

SOL, though, if you're a big US-based bettor wanting low juice...5dimes has it for $500 limits and will collar...ParlayMakers has Pinnacle's lines but for $250 limits...Lay104 kind of an unknown quantity...BetTrojan same thing.

MB needs better deposit options. In particular a direct Moneygram/** option, not *******.

MB and 5D used to use some kind of front place in Hallandale, Fla. That was nice, much better than sending to ....

                      Anna Maria Chiquita-Banana in Managua.....

They must have got busted, Matchbook never adapted.

Now my nearby supermarket with **, is shutting down. Going to the bank is a pain in the ass, they are an hour away Can't do CC's with the Amex fraud dept calling me if I deposit $100 into a book, **** is gone for deposits, refuse to touch bankwires....

It's enough to make a guy just quit offshore, if/when his balance hits zero. I'd consider using a local, if I knew any.

I don't know how so many books still exist.

******* seems fishy to me, they seem to exist just for gamblers, I'd not be surprised to see the Feds somehow lockdown the place.

Even **/** can get moody and cut off customers. I wouldn't have the balls to use a fake name.

I had 2 bankwire to matchbook twice. Once was really bad, as the info got wrong and i had to preform a trace to get my funds back into my bank. The other time I log on to citi, and manually type in the info. The fund got to matchbook in 2 days. They called me confirmed the funds was mines, and paid me my $20 transfer fee. Relatively painless, and I was able to fund MB from the comfort of my home.

The problem is that you need to watch the market like a hawk to be able to put in offers without taking the worst of it. I'm usually trying to make bets of no more than $500 or $600 and it isn't really worth my time to watch the market like a hawk when I can be doing other things in the meantime. Like the original poster, I too had a horrible time getting my offers matched on Saturday morning, and I put up some very competitive offers. There were games where Pinnacle had -105 on both sides and I couldn't even get matched offering -107.

Matchbook's great for baseball as Bill pointed out and they're a pretty good hockey option, but for college basketball, at least early on Saturday mornings, they're not a very good option.

I mean trying to get -107 myself so offering the other person +107, yes. A couple of my offers like that were either not matched at all or matched for minimal amounts.

UIGEA is really starting to show in this market. I thought last year was bad, but this year has been so much worse.

I'm sure it effects traditional books also.

Pretty sad when you cant fill that -107 offer in an earlier post, that should certainly fill at about 10 cents better than Pinny ( accounting for commission). There can't be a better current price anywhere, IMO.

Way too many books around, been saying that for many years....

It's a credit union, I kind of like them. Specifically it's a CU for Postal employees, and I kept the CU, after I quit working for USPS. At one time it was right upstairs from my workplace. If I need cash I get it off my ATM ( to $200, but that store is closing soon). I have another local bank with a small balance. It takes me a few days to get up enough cash to deposit in a book via Moneygram, but that's OK, I usually go close to the minimum for the book to pay the fees ( about $300-500)

I haven't actually gone to the CU offices in about two years, since I needed a cashier's check to buy a used truck. The hour is roundtrip, about 30 miles away in several directions. If I get a check from a book, I like to mail it to them for deposit, avoids any face to face questions, plus I have a lifetime supply of checks printed for that account already ! They don't hassle me, A long while since I've got a check from a book....but I liked just mailing it into that CU, then get a receipt for the deposit in the mail 2-3 days later....works for me.

the $500 offers at MB are done by MB themselves.

Place is a ghost town, could have been amazing.

Place is a ghost town, could have been amazing.
It is still amazing for baseball and football and NBA. matchbook is second to none in 2nd half liquidity too.

For you guys who are not near a bank, MoneyGram, or WesternUnion location, have you tried sending a deposit in using the ** or ** online options? I'm just curious if it works. I looked into it once but ended up not needing to use it so I'm not sure if it works or not. The fees are $5 higher than if you do it in-store, but seems pretty easy.

Fair enough, as long as it works for you, just realize that part of your complaint is a YOU problem. Most of us live within minutes of our local bank branch. I can actually walk to mine.
