As a matter of principle no one should ever use bodog. Ayre is a con artist thief who deserves to be in jail. Whether or not he is even still involved I do not care, he is a scumbag, bottom line.

#80Hold on a second here. Calvin is not a con artist or a thief nor does he have any sort of criminal record. I am assuming you do not know Calvin personally, because if you did, you would never say such things about him. He certainly doesn't need me to defend him, but I know these accusations are just not true- I've been friends with him and those who have worked closely with him for five years now. I realize you will probably shoot down my opinion, but it is a fact that Calvin is greatly respected in the online gambling industry.

#83Had Enough
I used to be a heavy supporter of Bodog. I took their shortcomings and turned a blind cheek to it. Everyone knows about their tactics in releasing lines, either late, circled, or adjusted against the favored team by a half point or so. They do it everyday. Even moneylines for basketball will be held until a few hours before tip off. It can be really frustrating at times. Especially during this past NFL regular season when mysteriously their servers encountered numerous problems week after week and shut down for hours on end. Anyways, they always paid out well so I stuck it out with them. After what they have done recently though, I can no longer do business with them.
I posted a thread about this on covers.com Please read the thread for the long end of the story.
To make a long story short, I was accused of having charge backs on my credit card deposits from them. This was from December to January. My account was disabled because of this. I called my bank to see if they had any idea of purchases that were stopped or cancelled, and they had no clue. I then settled with Bodog by paying with Western Union. Well this happened 3-4 times, and each time I repeated the earlier stated process. Bodog eventually took away my ability to make credit card deposits, even though I settled all ACCUSED charge backs by Western Union. About 2-3 weeks after any credit card had been used to deposit funds on their site, January 22nd, I was shocked to see 6 purchase charges on my checking statement. Even more convenient, 3-4 of the charges were for the same amount of my ACCUSED charge backs. All charges were from the same processor, USETHISWALLET. I sent Bodog my bank statement, and these new charges I was billed for actually were deposited weeks to a month in a half in the past. Somehow they just managed to process.
Bodog refutes any similarity between my charge back purchases and these purchases that took an over extended amount of time to finally hit my bank account, even though the totals match up exactly. Seems to me like Bodog did not receive their money from the processor, accused me of charge backs, I settled with them, and then the processor eventually got around to charging me for my purchases.
So I was double charged. Bottom line. Their only response is that they did an investigation and they claim I wasn't double charged. I can receive no statement or proof from them that indeed the charges that I was accused of charge backs for are different from these new/old charges that finally hit my bank account.
Use Bodog at your own risk. If inflated and withheld lines aren't bad enough, you now have to play Sherlock Holmes with your bank statement on a regular basis.Comment -

I'm not happy with the late lines and bad spreads either. I contacted them about STILL not having a fight line up, and they sent me an email saying the line would be up a "couple days before" for "small fights".
Keep in mind the fight in question was the next day, and they had those stupid red boxes around that particular line for over a week.

The US courts have found that he stole intellectual property worth more than $50 million.
It does seem very important to him to deny that he is a criminal. Like he wants us to see something different that most objective and critical people see when they look at him.
The question is not whether Bodog pays winners, but what your chances of being that winner, a precondition to being paid, are in all of the software security and owner honesty dependent games like poker and blackjack. The same software that was implicated in the theft of $50 million from one guy. Think of what it could be for all the people who play something other than their sportsbook.
I mean, is there a shortage of respectable sportsbooks that people feel the need to go one of the few that has to have a full time paid liar and apologist.Comment -

#88Wikipedia isn't exactly the most reliable source. Wikipedia admins are quite variable as to what they think is a reliable source and what isn't, and on gambling boards specifically, there's a user 2005 on there who essentially deletes anything negative written about a person or company. As an example, someone put on Ultimate Bet's page about how they retroactively removed hundreds of thousands of bonuses that were never supposed to expire by deciding they had a 90 day expiration and deleting all old bonuses. This is a statement of fact, not one of opinion, but because no mainstream news organization ever wrote an article about it, this 2005 fellow immediately deletes any reference to the bonus confiscation scandal. So otherwise well known statements of fact get removed. As another example, it's well known poker author Andy Glazer committed suicide and writer Steve Badger said as much, and it was confirmed by many of Glazer's friends, but because the initial obituaries said he died of "complications due to a blood clot," Wikipedia lists his death as due to "complications from a blood clot."Comment -

#89I would like to give Bodog another chance and try them as a secondary sportsbook. However they won't allow me to use a debit or credit card to fund. A few years ago, I tried to make two deposits via credit card which were declined. These were declined purchases not chargebacks, so Bodog didn't lose any money and if they did I would have reimbursed them. Now when I ask why credit card is not an option, I am told too many declined transactions. What a crock of shit. If this is the way they conduct business, then I will go elsewhere. There are many reputable sportsbooks out there dying to have my business.Comment -

#90Interesting that BodogBecky has time to make 81 posts here yet never responds to any questions about why Bodog lies about dealing dual lines or putting people on lengthy delays such that they essentially use their bettors to keep their lines sharp. Even on their rinky dink $100 limit props, I'd say at least 60% of the time after the long delay they tell me "the line has moved" 15 cents the other way.Comment -
