None of these work, and I'm not halfway through the B's yet.

BestLine Sports None A- www.bestlinesports.com (since you moved BetOnline to B+ and they are betonline not sure why they are listed separately and at A-)

You got about 50 more to go.

An updated list was due well over a year ago.

yea a current list would be nice, there are some sportsbooks out there that are not rated, but i guess SBR is very busy with the recent launch of the SBR points and Sportsbook etc

And change DSI from P to R...=p
I find it misleading to classify them as a book for pros.

SBR isn't really in the business to rate sportsbooks.

They accepted my correction. They had review of Globet in site bu didn't have it in rating guide list. Now it is corrected.

But definitely someone shoud take care of bookies that don't exist anymore.

I don't understand. Not to be a smart ass, but isn't this the very principle SBR was founded on?

Keeping its users abreast of changes to various books...Besides making $$ and functioning as a profitable business of course.

Obviously no longer a priority for something that has branched out and morphed into a completely different animal than it started out as. I doubt many people working for SBR have an in-depth knowledge of the industry these days. Bill and Justin, of course. But the programmers and moderators? Nah.

This has come up in the past. I know most of the posters in this thread already saw the last response below. Unfortunately there are a lot of guys who have been stiffed by an offline book or want to go back and use archives to see a name of a book's website. We get more feedback complaining players can't find site urls than we do that the guide is crowded. I know a lot of the bonus guys looking to try lower books get annoyed when they find the books they want to check out aren't active. We don't have a perfect solution yet and look at each one on a case by case. Lots of times readers help us fine tune it and make good points on how a book should be indexed. BTW, APEX and Lion Sportsbooks are two book sites that came back years later.
A lot of the blacklisted sportsbooks do remain listed after they are off-line. With these fly-by nights, the sportsbook links can turn on or off even months after they first come down. The turn-keys resell them and recycle them to other marketing webmasters but they stay under the same company. By keeping the site listed, it's easier for victims to find them and find who they are affiliated with, and makes them available to our status scans.

We just made one change last week that should make it easier for users to browse the rating guide. All the confirmed off-line books are hidden by default. I think that was Ricky Steve's top suggestion?

Regarding post-up or deposit books being listed, even if the book says they don't take deposits but is known to have called players to do so in the past they will be rated. Books often call saying "we don't take post-up anymore so unrate us." Then, shortly after someone who sent ** to play with them gives us feedback. We may make a group called "no new players" for those books but they are going to have to stay on the rating guide.

We try to make it easier for you guys to look at the guide. A lot of players use the sort-by links and never have to see the low rated. Let us know if you have any other ideas to make it better.

I was trying to look for mostly C- rated or higher books. If they've disappeared with player funds, shouldn't those books be F's?

Bestline having a different rating than Betonline.....

Betjoint having a different rating than Bookmaker.....

Pig having a different rating than Legends.....

Links all redirect to the latter sites.

What's the reason why things like that can't be fixed?

Throw a poster a bunch of betpoints and have them go through and find corrections.

It would probably take like 2 hours max.

I have too RickySteve and I started a thread about 6 months ago listing some of the books who are closed up, gone etc. I believe it was CrazyL who said they were going to look into it and issue corrections. How can you take a rating here serious if they aren't keeping on top of things. The one thing that did happen was they updated both BetEd and BetUS to say they don't take Canadians.....

It is time that the ratings were updated, cleaned up and made relevant again.

Let's have a contest to see what the "R" stands for in SBR. Or maybe Gene Rayburn and Nipsy Russell can come back from the dead for some Match Game 2009....
