credit card revoked after funding acct!!!
i've recently funded 150.00 to a BetOnline acct.over the phone using a cc!
today i tried to put gas in my car and cc would not work!
called bank customer service and was told the card has been revoked no reason why!
    has anyone had this problem?
any ideas on how to get my cc back without letting on that i funded a gambling acct?

Call your credit card company and tell them to lift the hold on your pending transaction, tell them it is not odd activity and you know about it. They may have placed a freeze on your card of any future transactions because of a mystery, such as an offshore charge.

Do not use any CC except for your all access. You personal CC used for everyday purchases will be stopped on suspicious activity. They know how to suspect when its for sports and poker so pay very close attention. If you have to use your personal CC, get an account with a place that will be used for just that purpose so you know what is supposed to be charged and what not.

I've had my cc shut down several times trying to fund BetOnline. I have to talk to fraud or risk management or something... It's a pain though, so I gave up on them.

looks like i'm screwed if they suspect gambling.
i wonder if i should close the bank acct and never use a cc to fund online gambling?

This has happened to me before as well. As Justin mentioned, you will have to talk to the fraud dept. probably.

I was just honest with them and told them it was for poker stuff. They didn't make me go into detail. I would advise you do the same.

They flag this stuff all the time. Don't worry about getting in trouble for it. The worst they will do is deny the charge. I just hope your not up big at Betonline, because they might reject the deposit and you would lose your winnings.

I would advise not to dodge you CC company. Just call them and clear the air. You will sleep better!

and you could always just act stupid saying "I didn't know I couldn't use it for gaming"

like I said, it's not like you'll get into trouble for it!

I had a bank call a couple times asking about "offshore charges" but they just asked if I knew about it and authorized it and I said yes, and that was the end of it. They're just doing their job. Most likely they won't even get personal on what the charges are for, as it really isn't any of their business. Their business is to protect the client from fraud nothing more.

                                exactly!

Citi has called me several times about these charges. They leave me a message to call within 24 hours, if I dont call to confirm the charges, they shut my card down till I call.

                                  LOL.

                                  Yes, Betonline is nuts.

I deposited $1000 there once. They broke it up into two $500 charges, did one from Costa Rica and one from Iceland, and tried to run them through minutes apart.

My credit card company quite understandably froze everything on me. Iceland....

just tell them that you authorized the charge. If you have good payment history they will let it go through. Now if you owe them lotsa $$$ they might want to talk about it a little more
