Betonline.com is a Mickey Mouse Operation
I signed up with BetOnline.com on Friday to have a backup book while BetPhoenix is having problems and I am already having problems like other posters predicted that I would. I called a few minutes ago and asked for a parlay on 2nd half Lakers under and 2nd half Stanford and the teller said he needed to put me on hold. I informed him that the action was going off shortly and told him what I teams I wanted in case it went off while I was on hold and to my surprise I was on hold 5 minutes or so. He stated that even though I asked for the teams before they went off he could not give me action now. I got a supervisor named Charlie Brown and got the same crap from him and while they admitted the action was on the board when I called and they were aware I asked for those teams they could not help me because the games had gone off while I was on hold. What a joke. I asked him to put the play on a hand ticket and was told they dont offer hand tickets. EVERY book has manual tickets for emergency circumstances but not for me because I hit 76% from Friday to Sunday night and they want to cool me off. I will be cashing out tomorrow and will NEVER play here again. Not even with free play money. I tried to give a SBR B+ book a chance because of the SBR contest and because BetPhoenix is a B book and my favorite but will never use less than A book again. Players beware.

A bit odd... but I'm not surprised a book would refuse it at that point. Once it is a past-post situation, you're on a freeroll if they will honor your "emergency ticket".

Could you parlay these online? Halftime betting is much more efficient online than with a clerk.

          It seems you missed this:

I was not at home. I was at a sports bar watching the action and betonline.com software wont run on my blackberry. I did tell the clerk what play I wanted incase they went off while I was on hold so its not like I was wanting to watch a few minutes and then ask for a different team. They put me on hold for over 5 minutes the 1st time. I wanted the action no matter what was going on the first minute of the 3rd qtr.

This morning I called to speak with somebody who has a little more stroke and told them that this is no way to treat new business or any customer for that matter and now they are playing the tape and gonna give me something as compensation as they should.

I filed a claim this morning and after they investigated and played the tape they said that I was absolutely in the right and gave me the winnings I would have won on the play. Maybe they deserve an apology but Charlie Brown was a jerk last night. I can guarantee you one thing,if these reps had to deal with us in person we would never get such arrogant garbage from them and that goes for all books out there.

Sure it could be abused, but it's trivial for most books to write a ticket after post as long as the selections were stated when the game was on the board. Calling in a bet can take upwards of 10 minutes depending on the rep and play. Books would miss a lot of action if they were strict about post times over the phone. If someone is taking advantage it will be obvious and they can be dealt with accordingly.

They played the tape and I was clearly in the right and the ticket writer was wrong and I was paid. Cudos to them because after I talked to the jackass on duty the night before I didnt think they were gonna do right by me.

They are beyond Mickey Mouse. They sent me a card today saying this...

"Call in with promo code MULLIGAN and I'll PERSONALLY place your bet and if it doesn't win, I'll give you the cash back, simple as that."

                            (Max refund is $250.)
                            Terms and conditions apply.

Now tell me what that means to you.
