#37Request a cheque (or cheques) to be sent to your U.S. address (that they presumably have on file).
Then, when you receive the cheques, it`s up to you ... cash them in the U.S., or physically take (or send) them to the offshore bank. If you deposit the cheques at the offshore bank, there will be no paper trail in the U.S. (as there would be with a bank wire).
Make photocopies of the cheques. If the cheques bounce, which they probably won`t, then contact Sportsbook.com and they will reissue the cheques.
I have probably received 30 or so cheques from them over the last 2 or 3 years. Three or four bounced (all from one processor) ... a bit of a pain in the ass to request them and wait all over again, but they reissued them and sent them again ... the rest of them all cleared.
Assuming that $8,000 is a fairly significant amount of money to you, then it`s worth your while to go through the motions and get your money.
This presumes they'll ever send a check. Why would they if they won't do a wire?
I've found a guy in Malta who is going to do some poking around for me. $8,000 is enough to get some muscle involved.Comment -

#38The probability of the check bouncing is precisely why I don't want a check. My address of record is in the US, and I receive checks there, but I don't want to add to the 2-3 week delay receiving the check a 2-3 week delay on the deposit, and I don't want to Fedex a check from the US to Uruguay just to be told it was no good to begin with.

It's obviously not an issue of what I 'want', since the only thing I've asked for the last six months is MY MONEY. If they don't offer wire transfers or ACH transfers, why advertise it?
I've got an attorney in Malta looking into the situation to determine what it would take to cause some headaches there. He thinks he could cause a review of their license with the Malta Lotteries and Gaming Authority. The only question is how much...Comment -

#449 Nov Update
Here's the latest from Sportsbook; they claim there was a 'transmission' problem with the most recent wire transfer. Another round of account statements provided and they've confirmed my request for a new withdrawal.
Any takers on what the 'problem' will be this time?Comment -

#46You have been waiting like 8-9 months without any signs of actually getting your money and you are afraid have having a check bounce on you? If I was in your shoes I would be jumping at anything that seemed likely to produce results to get my money as fast a possible...
The muscle/lawyer thing is laughable at best....
Isn't it obvious that sportsbook.com intentionally sends bogus checks to buy time before the customer realizes they've been robbed?
As I explained in a previous post, I don't want them to send a bad check to the US, have that deposited and then bounce, and then begin all over again. A wire transfer is easier, quicker and there are no wire transfers returned for 'NSF'.Comment -

#48So I guess I'm not the only one. Back in 2005-2006 Sportsbook.com did similar stuff to me. I went to look at my bank accounts online statement and saw that what was a positive balance of 5k or so the night before, flopped to a negative account balance of about the same amount. Try and explain that one. And because I had done transactions with them in the past that were honored and everything went smoothly, this one that went on the grounds of a straight up disaster, couldn't be stopped. The bottom line is the guys are crooks. I couldn't get the money back. I had so many frustrating phone calls with their agents and all of the hardship was to no avail. I poured over pages and pages of documents and history in order to prove they had over billed me. It was obvious what had happened yet they managed to keep me on the back burner. Don't let the appearance of legitimacy in some of these websites fool you. I say we all go crew up and get our money.Comment -

#50Latest Lie from Sportsbook.com
I reported here last week that Sportsbook.com had sent me an email confirming I had supplied all of the documentation and that my wire transfer would be processed in 7-10 business days.
Of course, no wire transfer was sent, so on the 11th business day I wrote them again, inquiring as to the status. Their response would be funny if it wasn't $8,000 they'd stolen:
> Unfortunately, due to increased security measures imposed on us by our new
> processors, we will be unable to process a bank wire withdrawal from your
> account until we receive a copy of voided check or a bank statement of the
> account in question. For this reason, your pending withdrawal has been
> canceled on November 13, 2009. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience
> caused by this additional requirement.
>
> If you have previously submitted this documentation for another issue
> related to your account with us, you must send fresh, up-to-date
> documentation as the other copies would have been destroyed after we had
> used them to verify the information in question. We will request this
> information once only and when received it will be kept securely on file for
> future withdrawals.
>
> Please note that if you have already requested a withdrawal and not sent in
> documentation your withdrawal may be cancelled and redeposited back into
> your gaming account.

#51This dispute is really weird. While it does it seems like a slow-pay is going on, your lack of urgency or willingness to compromise isn't helping get this taken care of. The more effort you put in here reporting what is going on, and the more effort you put in towards communicating with sportsbook.com, the more info you will have on what the hell is going on and the more feedback you can get.
Also there have been no reports of bad checks, since they had a problem ~1 year ago. There have been numerous reports of people getting paid no problem here http://forum.sbrforum.com/sportsbook...t-reports.html . This doesn't prove much, but just thought I'd point it out.
Anyway, it's likely that they are at fault here, but if you don't have the time to work on this case, you may continue to have trouble resolving it.Comment -

I've forwarded reams and reams of chat transcripts, confirmations from them, and then expressions of total ignorance by their people to SBR Help...with zero response. Some guy on here thought I was lying, and I offered to forward my correspondence to him. He disappeared.
Instead of asking for a total withdrawal I have, in the most recent withdrawal request, asked for only $4,000. We'll see if that makes a difference. At this rate I would be happy if they sent me $50 a day; over the last six months I would have gotten it all back!Comment -

#53Guess what, another month, another failed payout from Sportsbook. My last attempt was a request for only $4,000, hoping that by asking for less they might process it. Well, after two weeks, I got the following email from Sportsbook:
We have generated a support ticket to help us track your inquiry. Your ticket code is [obscured]. Please use this code in any further communication.Of course, BofA says they haven't rejected any wire transfers or deposits. So it appears that even asking for just half my money doesn't work.
Unfortunately, your bank wire withdrawal for $4000,00, which was requested on 11/19/2009, has been returned to us. The funds have now been credited back in full to your gaming account. Please feel free to request another withdrawal; you may wish to consider choosing a different method for delivery of your funds.
Please accept our most sincere apologies for this inconvenience, and thank you for your patience and your co-operation.

#56Beats me. I got an initial reply months ago that said I should supply sportsbook with all the documentation they were requesting (passport, bank statements, utility statements, front and back copy of credit cards, etc), which I had already done on multiple occasions and continue to do whenever asked, but after that one email no one at SBR will even respond.
I'm 0 for 9 on withdrawal requests now using wire transfer. I'm going to try an ACH withdrawal and see if that works. I'm also reducing my withdrawal amount to $2,000. We'll see if that helps.
Stay tuned.Comment -

#58Updated as of 28 Dec, Sportsbook canceled the withdrawal request yet again. They never notified me of any problem or contacted me about it, I had to contact them again and inquire why after two weeks nothing had materialized.
It's the same story, how the deposit 'failed' and I should request again, how they're 'certain' that my withdrawal will work this time, etc.
