Hmm. Their explanation for not honoring the promo, even though it was offered for weeks on their website for this particular game, is that the promo was only good for December. It was a 'mistake'. How can it be a mistake when they consciously moved the promo from Thursday, December 31st to today?

It's a little bit of a hassle, because I got Chicago +7. They're happy to cancel the bet, but the line already moved in my favor. I'm divided about this. To me it appears that they have to honor the promo. Nobody asked them to offer it, but once they did, and people started moving money accordingly, it was too late to cancel it. But I don't really want to play hardball with these guys either. That's just not the type of book this is.

Also, when I asked what was going on, they canceled my wager and put the money back in my account, even though I hadn't asked for that. Why would I, with the line having moved in my favor? They then transferred me to a supervisor, but he never picked up the phone; I let it ring for two minutes before hanging up. So now I have this weird situation of having a screenshot with a bet, and a bet that was canceled without my approval (you always have to confirm the bet when you call it in).

I don't know what to do. I don't want to take a shot at this book, but it seems to me that if I don't do anything, that is exactly what they (!), not me, set up.

darkhorse i would do nothing and just let it go.

the bet is canceled so its not like they canceled it after the game was over.

they offer to much good stuff to piss them off IMHO

i also told them it was nuts they would not honor it for us as some i'm sure deposited today for that reason alone and they still wouldn't budge.

I tend to agree. I value my relationship with this book more than a mistake, or the outcome of a single bet. But it remains an unfortunate way of stacking up mistakes in a cut throat industry.

I have a little more clarity about it. I think. They're a very nice book, run by very nice people. But that doesn't mean that they can get fuzzy about things that are clearcut.

1) They offered the promo. Today, when contacted, they suddenly said it was a mistake. But nobody was contacted about that. Plus it was not a mistake, because the book had offered it on their website this entire month, and the game was offered, because, as they had explained, it took the place of the Thursday game of 12/31/09. The promo was for a weekly NBA game each Thursday in December (but they adjusted that later, referring to the busy bowl season and therefore changing the last game from 12/31/09 to 1/14/10).

2) As to my bet. I never asked them to cancel it. I bet the game last night, and today inquired about the promo, because of what I read here. They canceled it when I made my inquiry, but without my approval, and while the line had moved in my favor. They then transferred me to a supervisor for further discussion, but he never picked up the phone.

If this was any other book than Heritage I would insist that they honored my bet. I have the ticket number and the screenshot. But because it is Heritage I want to continue to play there, instead of risking to get paid for this and getting kicked out in the process. But does that make sense? No. All books should be held to the same standard! For those who may wonder why I would make an exception. This book is truly generous. Just one example is that they replaced my initial deposit this football season, after already adding a 30% bonus. I know that they're in the wrong in this case, but there's nothing to gain by winning that battle if it means losing the war. (I do wonder if there was a change behind the scenes at Heritage, because they have always been very professional, until today.... Today was totally out of line with anything I've experienced before at this book. This was D league).

DH is spot on with his post. I had a bitch of a time getting Heritage to cancel my Boston -6.5 bet during halftime. Supervisor wouldn't talk to me either, but I remained insistent. The supervisor finally yelled at the phone rep to cancel the bet, but make sure I keep up on the promos better from now on.

Heritage finally did the right thing in my case, but they fell several notches today in my mind. Shocked as hell that they pulled this crap...I never would've expected it.

sitting staring at the screen reading the promo after making the deposit and it getting credited thought i would check just to make sure one last time that it is valid as i am anal like that.

i would have never known just would have kept my bulls bet at the half.

i actual am going to lose $10 in the transaction today

makes me sick.

i am glad for you but i found the way they handled things so bad today its not even funny.

That's fukked up. They were trying to tell me it was pulled two days ago but I knew that wasn't right. I remember seeing the promo last night and I made my bet around 9am this morning.

thats what made it so frustrating

was told it wasn't on the main page so i should have known its not on they just forgot to remove it from the perks page

i was like look i have the perks page as my bookmark so what does that have to do with the main page?

Relieved to be even on this game, but it's one I never would've played anyway. I think the awesome Heritage promos are now a thing of the past. Great while it lasted.

This whole situation is very surprising. They exemplify the highest standards, and this mess is so out of line with everything else they do. I'm perplexed, but am going to reserve judgment until I see how this all plays out.
