    BetOnline Account Compromised/Hacked
Just wanted to post this although it's already been resolved. May help others in the future.

I mainly play poker on BetOnline and have been playing on there since April 2020 or so. Recently started betting a little bit of sports on there as well (started near end of last NBA season and have done some MLB betting as well).

I bet the Lions/Packers game on Monday (haven't followed NFL in over a decade but did some research and hit nice parlay on GB -11.5 and O/49) and my account was sitting at roughly $1,299 at the end of Monday. I usually keep most of money in my sportsbook wallet and keep very little in my poker wallet. Think I had about $100 in my poker wallet at the end of Monday.

So I was scouting the baseball games on Tuesday to see what to bet, and when I logged into the website, my sportsbook wallet is at $6.95. WTF?!? I hadn't made any withdrawals or bets since the bets I made on the Packers game.

I contacted customer service and the rep kept saying "wins and losses from live betting are calculated at midnight each day. This will be reflected at midnight tonight". I told him "I don't bet in the live casino, what do you mean, where is my almost $1,300??"

He said "it shows your account played in the live casino at 12:33 pm est today (Tuesday)". Told him that wasn't me, that I don't play live casino, and was working at the time in question.

They escalated the issue after he asked if I felt my account was compromised and I said yes because that wasn't me. He asked how I access the site (I only play poker/bet sports from my phone) and said I'd need to change my password. He said only that I'd be sent an email once the investigation concluded.

I panicked and tweeted at Dave Mason (@DaveMasonBetOnline) to see if he could help speed things through.

A few hours passed and no email. I check Twitter and Dave DM'd me saying that it had been investigated and that there had been an email sent asking me to call a number and that'd I'd need to verify some information for them to unlock my account b(it had been locked after I changed the password, which I find is a good measure when they're investigating a fraud issue)

I check my email and still no email from BetOnline. I've had issues with not receiving emails from them in the past to the email I created my account with, so I went back to live chat.

They were able to get me the phone number to call. I called and got transferred to the fraud department. They had me verify some info then unlocked my account. Then the restored the entire missing amount back into my account.

I asked what happened and all the representative could tell me was that someone accessed my account and that they have blocked the device that was used to fraudulently access my account from accessing the website.

So yeah happy it got resolved, and in such a quick manner. Still hesitant though about how my account was compromised. My password for BetOnline was different than the password for the email that's associated with my account.

I ended up cashing out my entire balance and am thinking of closing my BetOnline account and thinking of signing up for a SportsBetting account under a different email address.

Just wanted to get this story out there as it appears this is not uncommon to BetOnline over the years.

Yes very common at Betonline in the past but this if the first one I’ve seen in a while. It makes zero sense, never did, never will, unless this is happening to a lot of players that never say anything. Then it makes perfect sense. To this day I won’t play at BO because of it.
