    What if...betfair exchange
What if betfair started to charge a monthly acces fee instead of commission and scrapes the PC?i was reading somewhere that they have 1 milion active accounts,so if they put a 100 dolars acces fee they would make a lot of money and be just the middleman.

They don't want to be "just the middleman".

They tried that business model and decided against it long ago for one reason and the other.

Would never work. Why would the little man want to subsidize the betting activity of the whale by paying an equal access fee? They'd lose active customers. Paying a commission as you go is much more democratic.

Because he would not have to worry account being limited for one and second 100 dollars per month isn't that much for the benefits you would receive

Huh? We are talking about existing BetFair customers, right? So they already enjoy this benefit. If you suddenly switched from current revenue approach to making everyone pay $100/mo, players would leave in droves.

Again. Why are you trying to change things? Your flat-fee plan is asking small players to subsidize the betting activity of big players. Doesn't make sense.

For someone limited with most books and who started paying PC last year this 100 $/mo isn't that much.plus as i said no commission to be paid

Just because it works for you doesn't mean it works for others. As previously stated small punters would leave in droves.

Gamblers would not pay any fees monthly

They would lose 1/2 their customers

Probably more than that, no way people will pay 100 a month, only consistent winners might do but Betfair don't like consistent winners, especially traders.

i'd love that. Most horse guys with decent turnover would come out way ahead.
