Bookmakers will hurt. Same as almost every business is going to hurt. Weak businesses may fail, or be forced to temporarily close to save staff costs.

But as Ariba says, they adjust and move on.

I'd predict many major (non-international travel) leagues will be back to playing, without crowds, within weeks.

Bookmakers will offer a flood of bonuses to get us back playing.

And this industry may end up doing better than most during the worst months of this.

          One possible scenario anyway.

              Yeah, maybe months some places.

What happens in Italy after this first phase of isolating everyone brings the spread rate down and people start going out again will give us a good guide.

I'd guess by that time the focus wont be on isolating non high risk people anymore, but letting it play out in a more controlled way.

If that change in attitude occurs I think we will see non-crowd games come back fast.

Americas Card Room is not paying out.. its supposed to be within 24 hours, im at 72, i see some people waiting 6 days and customer support told me "delays could take up to 15 days"... which is BS because i would imagine business is booming for them considering live rooms are shutting down

I'd rather play the lottery personally.

                    Or horses.

Yeah I'd never do it either

But you have to assume a good amount already do, and those that do also bet sports. And now they will be more or more often on e sports without sports available.

I'm not interested in betting on it

But I'd love to learn more about who does and what it looks like I'm terms of hold in various books that offer it.

I guess I might bet on Iracing if the real drivers were racing it.

I've never played much casino online, but wandered into a few of the games at BOL this morning. I've discovered that I'm really good at slots....LOL. Up $5k already! Probably time to walk away...

                            i think you should be!

                            huge opportunities in e-sports

bookmaker takes $500 on ml/spread for cs go, so you can get $1000 down on stuff with a huge edge

People need to gamble and bookies will lose a few millions on sports revenue but will gain on casino and poker.
At this moment without any sports, I resume my old passion with poker, Which is more boring that sports, playing sit and gos can be sometimes a pain.
Another thing that may come big with this is eSports I will definitely check it out.
