    Security Keys and Sportsbooks
I'm just becoming aware of the security feature called "Security Keys."

Does anyone use these with their sportsbooks' accounts?

I'm wondering if these keys are compatible with some A and A+ books.

I imagine it depends on the book, and I'll check via chat with my books to see.

I just thought I'd ask beforehand about this method.

Just throwing this thought out there.

    Thank you.

Are you talking about apps like Authy and google Authenticator? I don’t know of any books that use those, or if they’re even allowed to. Doubt it.

No, these are a small USB type of device that (I think) is inserted into one' s home PC, and receives codes. (probably like a Trezor Hardware wallet)

Just a stretch and thought I'd ask.

Can't have enough security these days.

      Thank you.

I guess I don’t know what you’re talking about then. There were flash drive sized devices that generated keys associated with an account you owned but those have been around for years and do not plug in to a computer. Effectively they are being replaced by app based utilities.

          Thanks for the input, PD.

Why are sportsbooks not allowed to use 2FA? Crypto exchanges use them. They seem to work pretty well. Nice added security.

They are the worst thing ever invented. Everytime I log in to the place I have to check some godam app or text to login to my account. Sometimes they send a dam email on top of it. And forget about ever losing your phone. It will take months to be able to reset everything. Nobody is going to hack into my account. It's frustrating when they make you do that crap just to login. It's bad enough remembering my password.

Apparently they are allowed to use them, no idea why they don’t. I just assumed more would use them and I couldn’t think of any that do. I read where betfair uses or used google Authenticator at one time. Maybe the books think it is too advanced for their support staff and users for that matter. Who knows.

I think he is talking about a "security token".

I used to have one about 8 years ago for my bank when they let me initiate my own wire transfers.

It's a little device about as big as a thumb drive that generates a one-time code every time you log in and you need that very same code to log in.

                    I think that's it Brick.

Did you ever use that for logging in to your sportsbooks?

                    Would it work for sportsbooks?

                    Thank you.

Use Authy, you can have it on several devices and the all sync (Phone, desktop pc etc). If you lose your phone you can block it by signing in to Authy from one of your other devices and deleting the phone that has been lost.

I have only ever seen it used by Banks, they didn't give me one until I started moving some serious money. I was sending and receiving wires almost daily, so they gave me that and told me I didn't need to come into the bank anymore I could initiate them on my own from my computer at home.

                        It made things much easier.

Just Google " security tokens for banks" and you will get an explanation on them and some pictures.
