betdsi PAID me my winning bet
on june 29th at 6:36am PST i made a bet on betdsi on the orioles vs indians. here is a screenshot of my bet slipin text, my betslip reads: "American League: Baltimore Orioles - Cleveland Indians. Money Line Baltimore Orioles +143. Andrew Cashner Must Start, Zach Plesac Must Start"

cashner started and pitched 7 innings. he got the win. plesac started and pitched 3.2 innings. he got the loss. the orioles won 13-0.
betdsi won't pay me because they claim there was a pitching change after i made my bet and so my listed pitchers bet is void. they say someone accidentally changed the starting pitchers in their system after the pitching change which is why my betslip displays the correct listed pitchers even though they say the bet i made was made with different listed pitchers.

two e-mails from an email thread with betdsi:

"Here is a link that shows the time of the pitching change (1:48pm) an the bet was placed long before that (6:36am) it would be impossible to place that bet with Cashner listed at that time since the line with Cashner listed was only available after the pitching change. http://www.donbest.com/mlb/pitching-changes/ Sorry for the inconvenience."

"Sir that is a official source I'm not sure where that is find that information in mlb.com but in fact a pitching change did occur in that game at 1:48pm the reason it says Cashner on your wager is the reason I explained before, after the pitching change when they went and edited the pitchers in that event it changed it even for the already pending wagers. I am sorry for the inconvenience and I admit there was a glitch in our system in that sense but it is also 100% true that you had listed pitchers and there was a pitching change so your wager becomes no action.

We have reviewed this with management and that wager will not be honored just because of a system glitch that wager is rightfully graded as no action and it will stay that way.

    Kind Regards,
    Chris
    BetDSI"

this is outright theft. i have a betslip on the baltimore orioles with two listed pitchers, both of whom started. they agree with this, but say there was a different listed pitcher at the time i made the bet (according to them, when i placed my bet at 6:36 PST, shawn armstrong was the listed pitcher for the orioles). this doesn't make sense for several reasons, but is most confounding because i made the same bet on bookmaker at the same time (8:35am CST), the same pitchers were listed, and THEY PAID MY WINNING BET. anyone ever had a book take such a ludicrous stance?

Cashner was originally slated to start.

There was then, a pitching change, from Cashner to Armstrong.

      06/29/19 12:38:00pm Pacific
      MLB (American League): Game 967-968
      PITCHING CHANGE

      Baltimore Orioles - S ARMSTRONG -R for A CASHNER -R
Not too long after that the Orioles switched back to Cashner.

      06/29/19 01:47:08pm Pacific
      MLB (American League): Game 967-968
      PITCHING CHANGE

      Baltimore Orioles - A CASHNER -R for S ARMSTRONG -R
My guess is that they auto-cancelled your bet when Cashner was scratched.

      That should never happen.

Wagers with pitchers listed should always stay pending until the game actually starts.

The customer service guy obviously doesn't know that there were multiple changes.

Ask to speak with a manager and it should get fixed.

If not, file a complaint form here.

DSI always cancels wagers immediately when a pitching change is announced. Every book has different policies for this, bookmaker waits until the game has been played to cancel. I actually remember this game because I had to bet it 3 times on DSI after all the pitching changes.

The bet should be honored if the original conditions were met. Books should maintain these bets until first pitches are thrown out by both starting pitchers. Only then, can they be canceled. Pay the guy.

              Thanks Frank.

              That helps a lot.

@bottleoffanta I'd email back the same person you spoke to and explain to them what Frank has said here.

If you can't get it sorted out yourself, shoot in a complaint form and SBR may be able to help https://www.sportsbookreview.com/sportsbook-complaint/

Here is another reason why the rep you spoke with doesn't understand what they're talking about. Because this isn't how sports betting systems are designed to work. When you commit a wager, it saves an exact copy of the wager and it's specific conditions as a separate record on your account. It does not refer back to the posted line, so if they change that line, the change does not automatically filter down to all related bet slips. Someone would have to go in and update the listed pitchers on every bet slip that was created on each individual account.

And if it doesn't work that way, then BetDSI has much bigger problems - the integrity of their entire system is compromised by a fatal design flaw.

they called me today and told me they paid the bet out. i am certain that the only reason they ever reconsidered is this thread/forum, so thanks to everyone that posted.

still kind of outraged the way my complaint was handled though

                    That's very good to hear.

It just sounded like a bit of confusion due the pitcher change back. Would not be too upset personally. As long as they got it right in end.

I think DSI is improving, I'll be using them for football season.... Even though their rollover and bonus setup is ridiculous.

I don't use any bonuses, so I can't say anything about it, but apart from that, there's not much to complain about. They offer a wide variety of bets, and my latest (btc) payout was sent out within two days (which is not as quick as bookmaker of course, but comparable to 5dimes or betonline)

So with 1 sportsbook I use you can have 1 starting pitcher listed or both or none depending on the individual bettor. Personally I always list the starting pitcher for the team I bet on but not the other teams pitcher. I've noticed a lot of teams seem to lack that 5th starter so they will use 1 game as a "bullpen by committee" where 1 pitcher pitches 2 innings & in the 3rd inning another one comes in relief regardless of score/pitch count, etc.
Glad you got the situation remedied.....go Cards!!
