    Wager Dispute with JustBet
Hi SBR, please help. I have always made a lot of in game wagers both online and in Vegas, and last Saturday my nightmare finally came true.

As anyone who bets UFC fights at the Bookmaker group knows, they almost always leave UFC lines up a couple of minutes into every single round, and will always immediately take the lines down if one fighter gains the upper hand or scores a KO (showing that someone is clearly manning the controls). They will often even go so far as to put up point props on decisions a couple of minutes before the end of the final round. I often wait until the very last minute to place my wager online, as I love to watch the fighters' demeanor before making a wager, and have even done this in person in Vegas from my phone app. The Bookmaker group also routinely does this for all of the major sports as well.

On Saturday night, I made a wager on Anthony Johnson over Phil Davis early into their fight. The bets were taken and remained pending throughout the fight. Thirty minutes after the fight was over, I get a message saying that my bets were voided. I used to always take screenshots for fear of being freerolled like this, and it looks like my fears have finally come true. I placed a wager early into the first round of the fight just before this (the one that Rockhold won), and of course JustBet was more than happy to take my money when that bet lost.

Just for the record, I am down over six figures playing in games at Pinnacle, lost close to that in Vegas before moving away to get things sorted out, and have even asked to be banned from Bovada and 5Dimes due to losses. I say this not to highlight just how much of a loser I am, but rather to point out that I am a dream customer by any stretch of the imagination (and am down over $12K this week alone on JustBet).

In short, I'd like to ask for either one of two things. JustBet was clearly in the wrong here, and I feel so cheated that I may never return to the Bookmaker group as a result. Either a) Pay out the over $2K that I won on that fight, or b) Refund all of my money on past fights and matches that were also taken shortly into games (which would be a dream result). A reputable sportsbook can't have it both ways. Just off of the top of my head, I can remember losing $9K and $6K bets just in the past year that were taken in a similar manner.

    Please help,
    ---Thomas H.

BookMaker will not treat you wrong. Read the Live Wager rules. My guess you violated a rule, thus they voided your bet.

The fact that you lost money at Pinnacle or in Las Vegas is irrelevant.

If he broke a rule why did they wait until the fight was over to void it?

Fair enough regarding Pinny or Vegas. However, I believe that my prior history with JB is more than relevant. They leave their lines open a couple of minutes into every round (and often re-open them in the middle of rounds), and generally leave the lines on their main page open a few minutes into games as well. However, they suspend action instantly when a major event occurs (i.e. a major blow is struck or a takedown is successful), which shows you that they are manning the action closely on these things.

Again, if it were a bad line or something of the sort, then I'd accept a no action or regrade (and would not bet into a bad line to begin with). However, to leave lines open a couple of minutes after the start time and grade only the losses is unacceptable. Add in the fact that this fight went the distance and this wager was not graded until after the fact, and we have a problem.

Exactly. You think JB would have refunded me if Davis submitted Johnson in rounds 1, 2, or 3, or if Johnson wore himself out and Davis outpointed him? NOT A CHANCE. I speak from experience on this one.

If JB wishes to say that all lines left open after opening bell, tip, kickoff, etc are void, then I'm fine with that. I might ask why they often leave these lines open for a few minutes into the fight/game/half/quarter/etc and instantly take them down after a major event if that's the case, as it sure appears that they are trying to getting every last bet in that they can. However, if this is JB's stance, then I simply ask to be refunded for every time that such wagers have gone against me in the past. I can assure you that this refund will be much higher than the petty ~$2K that they freerolled me on in this case.

Becasue that is when they do the grading.

Sounds like you bet the regular line after the fight started, not the live line. The point props and whatnot that you are talking about are only available in the live book.

What price did you get? Anthony Johnson was NEVER available at + money in the live book after the fight started.

You are absolutely right. They do this for almost every fight in the UFC, and take off the bets in the main book as soon as someone gets rocked early. They also routinely do this for full and halftime events in the main book for all of the major sports as well. The winning bet was Johnson to win by decision. To say that this was guaranteed early in the first round is quite a stretch. I made a similar wager on Rockhold by KO in the fight before, and they were glad to take that one when it lost.

So it gets graded a loss automatically when it loses and gets graded a push when it wins? If this is the case, then JustBet/Bookmaker desperately need to re-examine their policies.

Almost every other book instantly removes such wagers if they believe a bad line has been dealt, not let it stand for an extra 15 minutes and then grade it. Believe me when I tell you that I wish JB/BM would audit all of my past wagers and reimburse me for all of the losses that I've taken on lines that they left open shortly into an event.
