so this sportsbook industry has been like that for a long time...but why? was my question.
i mean..encrypting passwords and using other ways than asking passwords to verify the person is not some technology from the new world..all the other normal sites do it, pretty much anybody building a website thinks about this at the very beginning. In fact, you don't really have to think about it because there are so many out there already.

It takes more resources and would require them to overhaul their current systems of password storage & of customer support.

Not disagreeing, I'd rather my password be encrypted too.

Because they can. Offshore (Costa Rica) has all the leverage, until it's legal in the states nothing will change. Change costs money.
