    5 Dimes 50% Bonus?
Got a call from Ryan Fletcher, who said he was with 5Dimes. He offered a 50% cash bonus. Then I got some ** receiver names. Before sending money, I called 5Dimes to find out if their CS would confirm the promotion. CS said no. Anyone else know anything on this?

We'll see if we can confirm a person by that name making calls but it sounds unusual if their live help denied whatever he said.

They do have a 50%+ new freeplay player reward if you opt for the freeplay rewards type over the usually preferred reduced juice model ---- but nothing lists 50% cash bonus.. Also never send cash to anyone off a phone call if you aren't 10000% sure it's who they say they are, just deal with the reps over live help or by calling yourself directly.

He knew my phone number and said that I had been a loyal customer since 2008, which is likely correct. I asked him why 5Dimes was offering the kind of bonus we expect from books that are about to go under. He said 5Dimes was doing an new campaign to "get out there".

Thanks SBR administrator. Neither the phone call to CS, nor Live help knew anything about it. CS said on the phone that a message would have been posted onto my account, but none was. So I am not 10000% sure.

Did he leave a call back number? Even if it was a scam they would still need to get the reference number from you

Hap they scammed a friend of mine that way. The called him saying they were with a book and were giving a crazy bonus. They gave him a name to send the money.. he went out and sent it then called the book wondering why the money wasnt in his account. The money was picked up almost immediately so he was shit out of luck. Luckily the book honored the amount he lost but he had to roll it over. Since then whenever i receive a phone call i always call cs at the normal cs number to see if it was a scam or not.

He did give a call back number, for me to get back with confirmation \#. I went out for the evening, deciding to ignore the whole thing. Just got home. Message from wife says he's been calling all evening. Thanks to all for the feedback. I think I dodged the bullet. If it's too good to be true, likely isn't. 100% cash bonus from 5 Dimes does not ring true, even with 5X rollover.

I don't think 5 Dimes "needs to get out there".

i got the same today from that guy. Only reason I answered was cause it was from New York and I was curious who would be calling me from there. I thought it was weird for 5dimes to be offering a 100% cash bonus and to then be caliing me when I made deposits recently. I asked this guy if it could be done by the **** processor and he said only by money orders or ** so must be scam.

I think that most 5Dimes customers do not need to worry about getting called on this scam. I think they got my phone number from the same place as the guys who regularly call me from Vegas offering "sure locks", which is some list that you get on when you make the mistake of dealing with Eddie Roman, which I did a few years ago. Yesterday's guy likely guesses 5Dimes because it is a popular book. If I had said I have no account at 5Dimes, he would have just hung up at that point.

Got the same call yesterday. Sounded shady as hell. Seriously, it sounded like he was calling from a bunker somewhere.. The only thing that worries me is that they knew my name and how long I've been a member. Sounds to me like 5dimes user info has been hacked.

Good reason not to give books ur real phone number. Why would they need it? Guess some are afraid they will miss some special bonus. Lol. They have ur email that's good enough.

Sandlapper, I went back and checked on when I joined 5Dimes, which was Dec 2007. He said 2008 to me, which I did not question then. But if you joined in 2008, it could have been a lucky guess, based on when your phone number began to get circulated in scam circles. On the other hand, I could be wrong, and the 5Dimes user info could be hacked as you say, but then I would think there would be a LOT more posts in this thread.

5dimes never does sales calls, that should of been the red flag right there.

I always give books my correct phone number. I don't give them any reason or excuse not to pay me when I request it. Why take a chance?

Really not any chance of that happening imo, at least at books I play at. All u would have to say is u changed it. Never had a book ask for my number when requesting a payout in 15 yrs. offshore

well worth not being bothered by them calling me or selling my info to others. Personal preference I guess

As long as you call into the normal customer service line you always deal with or go on chat to ensure everything is on the up and up you should be fine. YOu should always do this before you ever send money. Never call the number they give you over the phone (unless its the normal number you call), and more then likely this guy will call you back very quickly to see if you were ready to deposit so you never get the chance to check. Just like Hap said they did

"just got home. Message from wife says he's been calling all evening"

Exactly, he picked one of the most popular sportsbooks in his attempt to get you to send him cash. He likely doesn't have an agenda other than being broke and unable to find a job.

To prevent helping the scammer adjust his strategy we'll close this topic out.
