Placed a bet 40 times bigger than the wager limit, Do I have a case?
Back in January, I did place several wagers on one WTA tennis game and lost. The total risk amount was just under $20,000 which was about half of my whole life savings. I was in a very bad losing skid and was out of my mind when I placed the bets. The sportsbook have had their limits set at $500 maximum for all tennis games. Of course they wouldn't have paid me had I won. Certainly, they would have had all the reasons not to pay. Now, they are refusing to even give me any kind of compensation. Please tell me, if I have a legit case to file a complaint ? Thanks all.

Where exactly does the $500 limit come from, and how were you able to get around it to get that much on in the first place ? Was that what you saw when you actually placed the bets, or is that just what it says on the limits page of their website ?

Just as a lot of books limit winning players, a lot also go the other way and increase the limits of losing players as well, so it could be that they increased your limits to let you get a bigger bet on.

Also, what were the odds on the bet you made - if the player you bet on was a heavy favourite then that $500 limit would likely be for max win I would think - for example if the player you bet was -4000 (1/40 in fractions) then a bet of $20k only wins $500 in profit anyway, so a stake limit of $500 to win a max $12.50 seems silly to me on a price like that.

In all honesty though, unless you had self excluded there or specifically asked the book to cut your limits due to a gambling problem, then to me you don't really have a case I am afraid...

If it did win, I suspect you would want payment and file a complaint....
You might have a case, I dont know... but you took the bet and it lost.
People on here arent getting paid when they win, never mind when they lose.

if you won and they didint pay you, you have a case.

This way, you placed a bet and lost. No case imo.

Worse reverse freeroll I ever heard of in my life. Sorry bud but you are dead in the water, and if you won they would have paid you 500

i'm guessing u are talking about 5dimes because their limits on most tennis is 500, and i myself have placed large wagers over the limits, they reset the limit every few mins or when the odds change, i have wagered like 4000 on a japanese 2 soccer game so 20k on a tennis is not that crazy, they would of paid u , prob would of cut ur limit if u had won but i don't think they would not have paid u,

You really think Tony would pay a 20k wager on a 500 limit? I disagree 100%

it's not a 500 limit, it's a 500 max wager at one time, but once it resets which is usually a few mins or the line changes u can get another 500, there is no limit, if it was a limit on the wagers they wouldn't let somebody keep betting over and over til they bet over 20k, also he said january so it could of been an aussie open wager which limits can be up to 1000, i think the main point of all this is don't bet 20k if it's half ur life savings, and especially wta those women u can't trust them they are emo , good day one day awful the next
