Several major Cris/Bookmaker listed limits are way off
I noticed a couple of discrepancies, so I checked the major sports:

NFL total is listed at 5000, only take 2000
NCAAFB total is listed at 3000, only take 2000
NBA total is listed at 3000, only take 2000
NBA ML is listed at 3000, only take 1000
NCAA BB total is listed at 1000, only take 500
NCAA BB ML is listed at 2000, takes 2000.. twice the NBA amount!
NHL ML is listed at 5000, only take 1500
NHL PL is listed at 5000, only take 2500 (wtf!?)
NHL Total is listed at 3000, only take 1000

All of these were observed gameday evenings. Not that I expect much in the way of CS, but of the 15 major sport markets, 8 are listed wrong. A+.

Wonky. Guess they forgot to lift the overnight limits or something.

      Good Post Tom

I'm glad You brought this up Tom.

It's a pain I agree and should be brought up to management. In the old days there was only 3 A+ sportsbooks. Them sportsbooks earned them positions by basically being flawless in the industry, posting correct info on there websites etc. Now there is well over 15 A so they feel they have no goals to shoot for.

Betphoenix does take larger action so I would consider them. Betphoenix will however lower your limit if You hit them up the first week or so. Your best bet would be matchbook where You can basically get any action You need.

      hope this helps Tom

Nope. Other than hockey, they took the listed amount on all sides.

Is it just me or are limits shrinking like never before everywhere recently?

$250 NCAAB Totals at pinnacle are now the full limits.

WSEX $1,000 NCAAF Sides until game day (used to be $5,000)

Good thread. I was thinking of checking all the stuff Tom went through but he beat me to it.

It got my attention when I tried to bet an NHL puck line and it would only take $1000. Happened a few times to me and I was assuming it was permanent. I'm surprised to see the above reference to $2500.

Are you sure you weren't betting an Alt-puckline? Those were 1000 limits last year and seem to still be this year. I'm getting 3k limits on PL/ML/total in NHL today, but still the same issues in NFL and NBA.

Yes I'm sure I am talking about a regular puckline however I must apologize. I was talking about DSI (Diamond Sports).

I was getting my CRIS family books mashed together in my mind.

Now DSI does have a 5K limit listed - and a test confirms I still have the 1K actual limit - but I suppose that is another topic.

I haven't had funds at Bookmaker for awhile so when I try a test there I get a "balance exceeded" message so I don't know what my functioning limits are.

I would say that this may have to do with the UIGEA but if Pinny is lowering too....they aren't affected as much by the UIGEA anymore. Hmmmmm.

Are the phone limits still as high?

Pinny will be getting less North American square money, thus getting hammered on speciality markets like NCAA totals is less acceptable, and so reducing limits makes sense in that context.

It's surely a good sign of prudent bookmaking, wouldn't we all rather they lower limits and stay in business than take unacceptable risks, go bankrupt, and not be able to pay out players?

Pinnacle is still taking 10K on US college football sides, 5K on ML's.

So the money part does not scare them.

I see $250 limits on college hoops too.

I think they are just nervous college basketball is not on the up and up, when only five players on a floor, pretty easy for one or two players to give a gambler an edge.
