    Scam alert: WSEX Sportsbook

WSEX Sportsbook (SBR rating F) players are owed $916,053. The WSEX users all report a similar story: they are told that processing is made difficult by banking regulations, and that payouts are delayed as a result. WSEX representatives are unwilling to speak with SportsbookReview. WSEX is listed in the SBR scam sportsbook blacklist. | Read more

They used to be regarded as a great place to play, but they started slow-paying. The slow-pays got worse and worse, eventually becoming no-pays. Here we are today. There's not too much chatter on the forums because most active users saw the red flags and multiple downgrades and got out in time.

Unfortunately for guys that don't check the forums, WSEX is still trying to convert and run promos like they're capable of paying, with crap like this (Credit to OGD for sharing):

      Dear Sports Fan,

With over 1/4 of the NFL season on the books, suddenly we are surrounded by prognosticators. It seems like everyone thinks they are a soothsayer of unparalleled skill, confidently foretelling the outcome of this NFL season. Well, for those of you who think you can predict the future, we are throwing down the gauntlet.

Make a deposit of up to $2,000 by 10am ET, Sunday, October 14, and receive an automatic 20% bonus. Then call us at (888) 498-8227 and tell us "true" or "false" for each of the following 5 statements. If you're right on all 5, we'll add an additional 80% bonus for a total bonus of 100%.

      Here are the statements:
      1. Houston OR Baltimore will win the AFC Championship
      2. Atlanta, Chicago OR New York Giants will win NFC Championship
      3. The NFC will win the Super Bowl
      4. The Philadelphia Eagles will make the playoffs
      5. Denver will win the AFC West Division

So, you think you can predict the future? Prove it. Make your deposit by Sunday morning and make your predictions, and we'll see what the future holds.

As always, if you have any questions about funding your account or what option is best for you, please contact one of our payment specialists at accounts@wsex.com, or call us at (888) 498-8227.

Remember, if you don't have action, nothing can happen!

Thanks Lou! Thought so, what a dumb move to blow your good rating with Mickey Mouse payouts. Guess the owners were spending the profits on some "outside" ventures........

They're completely buried. Their website, domain and software has value though. Granted much less than than before, and much less now than then but even now still has value. They could of done the right thing, liquidated, manned up and settled but chose not too and just disappeared from public eye.

I've tested them ONLY out of curiosity a few times, last time was about a year ago, and they still did pay. I was doing VERY tiny deposits, rollover and make a few bets to see if they were pure no-pay. No idea now but back then were still paying. Basically: stiff tons of old accounts who already know they're broke, while running accounts for clueless folks. Not even sure they even pay anyone period any more and with all the warnings out there sure it's slowed a TON, but think for a while was process the tiny cashouts for new profitable players, blame processors and stall for larger ones. Somewhere way back in line, which is probably not ever going to be a possibility is the $916,053+ which they probably at this point don't even have much intention to ever pay.

Really sad story though. I know even when he was posting he had his critics, but I always really liked JC. Back then had massive respect for guys like JC and RS that were never hiding and fought their chargers hard. Obviously much different ending between the two and the disappearing now is beyond excusable for JC. I guess I just want to buy the line that they failed at the fault of the US government, confiscated money or whatever, than to say it was for poor management. I guess in the end doesn't matter which it was, but do find the story quite sad.

Seriously I remember when UIGEA was happening a friend very involved in the industry said, well we know when CRIS or WSEX stops paying it's the end and until that point I'm not going to worry about it. He was sincere, and I didn't really process it to say I agree, but had I done so I probably would have agreed. Seriously no one worried before UIGEA how much you had in WSEX. It was like same as being in the bank. Was pinnacle speed for payouts, would request payout to NETELLER, get paid in minutes go the ATM and buy what you want. Everything was simple back then.

I don't know, calling me naive is fine, but a ton of people had a lot of respect for JC. I can't help but think there were options here. Selling out to pay players even in part, selling shares, hell even just swallowing pride and asking for money. I think if WSEX came clean and was honest it would of turned out better for them than most anyone else in this spot, though maybe that's where can call me naive. The bottom line though is they made the decision to be scammers instead. It was a choice, WSEX is now a scam no doubt about it, but just even to this day, it's so freaking odd to say that.

Most active users simply gave up, that's why there's not much chatter. It's not because everyone got out in time.

JC became awfully quiet once the WSEX problems surfaced. A man of his integrity would surely go public to clear his name.

WSEX pulling a Lenny (deposit only)....you can't make this shit up.

I'd toss in a bet or two (probably not 3) that he wasn't to blame. Still doesn't excuse his disappearance.

Big (and gooood) surprise today : I got paid 1000$ from wsex (I had numerous payout requests in the pipe, for about 10 k$, for more than 2 years now, and the ref of this paiement seems to be with a request for 1555$ sent on oct 10, 2012) on my skill's account (I'm in Europe).
