WBA are actually the better team right now. If it wasn't Monday game, the Over would have been a gift here.

Monday or not, these 2 teams have cashed on the over 4 times out of the 4 games they have played each other. I'm willing to take my chances and stick with the trend that the over hits for a 5th time in this match up.

I too like WestBrom in this one. They are on fire at the moment, while Blackpool are going through a very rough patch. Great start of season for them, but lately can not put their act together, excepting the Liverpool win. Last year, WBA won both games 3-2 against Blackpool.

Overs is the more "obvious" play but I think this is a good spot to go contrary on that, despite the last 4 meetings between these covering overs. They've never met each other in the PL and despite their league positions and decent starts they are BOTH in a relegation battle in their own minds, given its a common trait in the PL that to survive you dont get beaten by your relegation rivals, I think this will be alot cagier than any stats will suggest.
Neither team is going to want to lose this.

I agree 100%, despite the fact that it's Monday, I still like this OVER to hit. I have to see a 2-1 at least...on a Saturday or Sunday these guys would probably be good for 4, perhaps 5!!! I still like the over 2.5 today. BOL fellas!!

West Brom is the obvious pick here due to recent form but their odds seem short as they are away from home against a more than capable blackpool team. Blackpool are always a goal threat and the home team shouldnt be underestimated IMO

I'm going with both WBA and both teams to score on this game, hopefully 2-1 so the over hits for everyone as well

PK and No Bet, DNB mean if it's a draw you get your wager back, if your team wins you win, it's basically insurance in case of a draw.

Some of the books return only half of wager... in europe you can also find X1 or X2 which means you win if it's draw and/or first/second team wins.

If you like WBA then take them at pk, don't be surprised if it ends as draw. Mondays are not good for betting because you enter the new week trying to recover weekend loss. which is not good.

I'm curious by something thats been mentioned a few times in this thread so have a question for those posters -- how does the fact its a Monday night game actually affect anything?
I could understand if one team was on a shorter gap in between games, or one of them had another bigger game in 3 days time but in this situation they dont - I fail to see how day of the week directly affects anything.

It's national t.v. and it's the only game. Everything is over-analyzed, and teams perhaps play a different style because of the added pressure of being watched by the entire country/continent. Just like Monday Night Football games here in America are often tough to call...or especially the college football games on Tue-Friday...it is a nationally televised game, and added pressure is on both teams not to get embarrassed and to look good for the fans...for example, in a game like tonight's in the EPL...both West Brom and Blackpool play a more open style which leads to goals being scored...however, tonight, they perhaps would be more weary of that so as to not allow 2 goals in the 1H and be down 2-0 in front of the entire country. They may pack in the defenses and play a more possession oriented game. This is just my theory as to why the weekday games are different...perhaps someone else has a better one...but yeah, that could happen here...I just don't see it...these teams have identities that are pretty well established. They try and score goals, and both are ever-dangerous in the attack. I see a 2-1 win either way or a 2-2 draw. I'm laying the over juice, and if I lose, so be it. I wouldn't bet the house on it, that's for sure...but I don't think the weekday curse will hurt this one. Good luck!!

Thanks for the response. A few points, IMO:
This doesnt apply at all to the EPL compared with MNF/SNF pigskin etc, purely because not as many people will watch this. Television coverage is that broad of the EPL that when the game actually takes place probably doesnt affect the teams in any way in terms of how they are viewed by the general public.
This part I actually agree with but for another reason - the aim of both these teams is to avoid relegation this year, to avoid relegation you cannot afford to get beat by teams in the same position.
The pink part is my exact reason for fading the overs, but like you I may win and I may lose, I believe the line has been influenced too much by past stats. If you have 2 teams who are almost IDENTICAL in how they set up and like to play the game, quite often it will neutralise it. How many times do you see the 2 top scorers go head to head in a division and somebody wins 1-0? Quite often I would guess.
GL with your plays too pal
