A prison officer has netted a record jackpot of £3,001,511 in Britain's largest ever Football Pools win.

Michael Elliott, who is 56 and lives in Brechin in Angus, said the prize scooped from a £2 stake was a "dream come true".

He secured the payout by predicting eight 2-2 draws in Scottish, English and Spanish leagues in September.
