Bodø Glimt
Two straight wins for Bodø Glimt now and surprisingly both away from home. The first of these two marked the first away win in league play since the 0-1 win over Lyn in july last year.
Both Alta and Løv Ham have been beaten 0-1. Both Alta and Løv Ham have also been in good form lately, so these were good and, even more so, important results and points for Bodø Glimt who is now in qualification spot (3rd, 4th and 5th place) with 32 points.
Meeting up with Fredrikstad today - three new points could turn out to be crucial in the fight for promotion to Tippeligaen. They hosted Sarpsborg and won 4-0 last month, and ahead of them is home games vs the rest of the top teams Fredrikstad, Sogndal and Ranheim. All at home, and with their strength at home a direct promotion without going through the qualification is within reach if they can grab more points from those teams at home, starting with Fredrikstad today.
Bodø Glimt went 12-1-2 at home in the 07/08 season when they were promoted and stayed in Tippeligaen for 2 years before relegation to Adeccoligaen again. So far this season they are 7-0-2 at home.
Bodø Glimt will be without midfielder Konradsen today.
Fredrikstad
Fredrikstad started off this season looking like they'd cruise all the way to promotion going 9-3-2, but lately they've hit a slump going 1-3-2 with the only win being a 2-5 win over bottom team Mjøndalen. One of the two losses, and at home, was vs another bottom team Follo.
Fans are not happy about their performance at home lately, or on the road for that matter, fearing loss of the promotion spot.
On the road they've been solid, though, going 5-1-2.
At the end of August month Fredrikstad sold left-back Wallace to Gent and striker Andersson (10 goals this season) to Odd.
Today will also important defender (but also a weapon offensively on set pieces for Fredrikstad) Piiroja be out for the visiting team.
I expect both teams to be really going at it in search of points in this game, but Bodø to end up with all three in the end. To Bodø it's crucial to their chance of promotion to get three points here today as they are very poor on the road (the 2 wins they got in a row won't happen again for a while I think...).
I see them taking advantage of Fredrikstad's total lack of form lately, and them missing 3 regular players, left-back Wallace, mid-defender Piirojo and striker Andersson, moving their home stats this season to 8-0-2.
