    OvertimePlease's 2010-2011 Soccer thread
Figure since alot of people on here has been helpful throughout the 2-3 years i've been on this forum, it's time to give something back to the sbr soccer community. Pretty excited that the season is starting again, nothing beats soccer on saturday followed by football on sunday. I would like to wish everyone good luck throughout this season and I hope you make some money if you decide to tail me. I don't post units or odds so don't ask for it.

8/13/10 - Tottenham vs Manchester City

My first play of the season is one of the most anticipated Rivalry game. Tottenham is 12-1 SU in its last 13 year Man City. MAn City has some new signings such as David Silva, who will start this game. But tottenham also has Robbie Keane back. These two teams always play each other hard, but with all the new signings for man city, i think it will take more than a couple games for the team to gel together, that's why i will be taking tottenham this match.

    Tottenham -0/0.5

    Aston Villa vs West Ham

This is a hard game to call, with west ham having a horrific record last year on the road, Villa looks like a really good bet. But the club is in a big crisis right now with the resignation of their manager, O'neill, leaving them with no real coach. Injuries are also piling up for both sides. Hitzsperger, hines, and Collision are all out for Hammers. While Cuellar, Collins are out, Agbonlahor and Davies are doubtful, Milner participation will depend on his decision to sign with Man City or not. I feel like West Ham could get something out of this game, 1 point would be a good start and 3 a plus. I feel the Hammers can win this game, but just to be safe, i'll take them at half a goal.

    West Ham +.5

Update: Milner is to start tomorrow.

This is one of the best things I've read all day. I've looking for where the upsets where come from in the EPL. I know not all favorites will win. But I've looking hard to find the upset teams. I'm already on Blackpool as I don't see Wigan winning their first game of the season against a newly promoted side. The public will be buried on that one.
I may do a small play on West Ham ML.

I like Tottenham pick. Apart form the H2H record, Man City are always poor on the road while Tottenham are always good at home, especially against good sides.

That's right, people tend to forget Man City is horrible on the road. I don't think blackpool will lose tomorrow either, they played some good soccer in the championship last year and could pull the upset. The other upset could be blackburn to beat everton, blackburn is tough to beat at home.

Blackburn lost at home only thrice last season. They're a tough act at home. Everton's defense on the road is "soft". I think Blackburn is good for a 2-1 win.

Eh lousy 2-3 to start the season, Tottenham really let me down, and luck was with Joe Hart today. West Ham just got dominated from the beginning till the end.

              Anyway..

I really like this game today, Monaco has really been dominant over Montpellier at their home ground over the last couple of seasons. The under seems like a legit play also. Monaco sold their best offensive player, Nene to PSG and last game against Lyon, they found it hard to put the ball in the back of the net. Montpellier also sold some important offensive players such as striker Montano and attacking midfielder Tino Costa. Monaco had tons of chances last game, but due to their lack of finish and Lloris having such a good day between the sticks, they couldn't score. Montpellier's last game was pretty boring, no signs of any chances for both side, with the lone winner coming from a set piece from Estrada. Im going for a home win with history on monaco's side, 4-0 at home and 8-0 ats overall against montepellier.

                    Monaco +1/4
