Eduardo da Silva quits Arsenal for Shakhtar Donetsk
I guess Wenger cashed in on Eduardo...not sure he'll be happy playing in the Ukraine though

Shaktar has a good squad but still very weird for a player like Eduardo who could easily be an option for any top club.

Shakhtar is one of those underdogs that always exceed expectations in the european cups, glad to see them sign a top player.

He was unlucky in England where he had so many injuries.

lakerboy, you're totally wrong but having in mind the salary he'll be playing for - who cares. maybe in a year or so he'll be on his way to Tottenham

Before his leg was broken, he was in excellent form for Arsenal. Missed a full year, and he just hasn't been the same since he came back. If not for that injury, things would be a lot different. Talent is certainly not an issue...might be some mental hurdles to overcome after the injury.
He was in Croatia for almost eight years before he moved to Arsenal, so I don't think he'll have any issues playing in the Ukraine. Shakhtar's a quality club, he should flourish there. Hopefully we'll see him back in the Premier League one day.

hmm, don;t underestimate Shaktar. They will reach knock-out stages in UCL next season. Remember that they won the last Uefa Cup

Not really surprising. But hope him well in the future, that broken leg really changed his fortune with Arsenal.

That was brutal foul, that one who commited should have had a life ban. Eduardo never found his top form after this incident.
Shahtar is a decent team with big expectations. Eduardo doesn't wanna play second fiddle at Arsenal
