PARAGUAY played a solid match against Italy, earning a solid draw. Although SLOVAKIA looked decent, they managed to give up a late goal against a mediocre at best, NEW ZEALAND. I think PARAGUAY has the slight edge in terms of overall ability and talent, and will surely come in to this game with more confidence than SLOVAKIA.

Agree with you. Paraguay may play for a draw and hope for the best against New Zealand in their last match. Slovakia is no pushover. They may actually want to win this game because they will play Italy next. I feel this one has draw written all over it and will be glad to grab Slovakia +0.5 if available.

In my opinion Paraguay on occasion play the closest version of pure southamerican total football. Their skills in delicious attackfootball have been proven in CONMEBOL qualification round for World cup, mostly at home in Asuncion against all southamerican footballpowers.

Lately they have qualified to a couple of World Cups quite easy from the most difficult confederation CONMEBOL. They are good and reliable performers at qualification and groupstages but unfortunately they havent performed any results in knockoutstages at World Cup or Copa America lately. That said I think wellreputed Coach Geraldo "Tata" Martino has done his homework and will take highly talented Paraguayan team far in this tournament.

In the first game Paraguay played causiously and with (to much)respect for the opponents World Champions Italy. The job was done though and they achieved 1 point. Paraguay squad has a lot of potential and talent, and I expect them to blossom out in the games against relatively weak opponents like Slovakia and New Zeeland.

Obviously we wont see Cabañas but I expect Nelson Haedo Valdez will cause a lot of trouble for the slovakian defence. Cristian Riveros will operate the midfield.

The game will be played in Bloemfontein(relatively high altitude) at 13:30 local time. I dont think altitude and weather conditions will favor any of the teams.

Paraguay played pretty good against Italy as most of the South American teams have progressed as usual. Slovakia suprised me and put up a fight, but against New Zealand that doesnt say much. Im not sure they can play with Paraguay for 90 min.

Draw is not out of the question because as we have seen - anything is possible like with japan beating a fighting cameroon. But no way im betting on Slovakia

Paraguay will win this one.
