In soccer I've seen Refs come over to an injured player to see the severity of the so called injury. Then make his decision as to what color booking to give the player. Then after the player is sent off with the red, the injured player that was taken off on a stretcher is running at full speed down the pitch. At least the NBA refs make their decision when they blow their whistle.

I know you're inexperienced in watching soccer, so no real point in explaining how many heroes there are in our game who've played with broken hands, broken noses, cuts all over their bodies. All you're seeing is the bad side of the sport which creates your bias.
