I can't see someone like Messi or Villa winning due to the high volume or players just as capable on their teams of scoring as them. Who is a darkhorse with decent odds that you see winning? I have Arjen Robben $100 to win $6000 and Drogba for $100 to win $3000.
Who will be top scorer?

#3Rooney or Van Persie.
I'd take Persie over Robben for the top scorer any day in Holland.
Anyone see the Holland v Mexico game? Holland only have 1 striker who will finish their goals and that's RVP. He's on form also. If Holland get far it will be because of him scoring goals that their strong creative midfield provides. Rooney needs a lot of production from his midfield, the game was Mexico vs sad because if it was Man Utd he would have had 3 goals in that game with players actually findinghim.Comment -

#4That's a good point about Van Persie. I've seen Robben all year and not Persie (due to injury). His odds have been dropping like a rock since that game against Mexico. Might as well jump on before they go even lower.Comment -

#12The thing that worries me about Holland is the coaching. It's one thing to coach a team during qualifying, but a totally different thing to build a team during a tournament. During qualifying it's enough to give some basic instructions. But during a tournament you want to see a team rise to a new level.
From the way he coached the team during the last couple of friendlies - against Mexico and USA - I was very unimpressed with Van Marwijk. The first halves, with starters, were fine. But both second halves, with backups, were horrible. I would have expected the coach to give some instructions from the sideline to get the team back on the rails, but he did nothing of the kind. So this seems to be a coach who can draw up a game plan, but not someone who can make adjustments on the fly.
So when the time comes to outcoach another coach in the tournament, the Dutch coach could easily come up short. No tactical genius by any means.Comment -

#17I'm surprised no one has talked about Crouch.
This guy has scored more goals than any English player for his country in preparation for the WC, 5 in the last 5 games. England actually depend more on his goals than Rooney to get anywhere in the WC. If you think England is making it to the final this WC, then your value bet should be Crouch.
Just helping you guys out with value. But personally my only bet on this prop is Villa.Comment -

#34Three goals has never won the Golden Boot, and four has only once. In my opinion, you have to honestly think your player can score 5 or 6 goals in this tournament (meaning advancing two rounds or more) if you're going to bet it. Right now, I like Messi +900 or Fabiano +1200 outright.
For long shots, Each-Way placing (top 4), I like Ribery +6600 and Bendtner +8000. Tempted to take an Italian, maybe Rossi +5000, but Italy's scoring was so spread out last WC. Hard to bet the Dutch for me, love the players, hate the team. Cant trust them.Comment -
