    question for fans
have you ever felt like the team you supported since being a little child is not worth supporting it anymore ? When i was younger, i felt in love with Steaua Bucharest and done a lot for that team. Now i feel that it isn't the same same spirit anymore around this team.

Can you logically change your team ? Have you ever gone through this ? It's not a nice feeling ,i tell you

No, I will always support my team through thick and thin....unless they get dissolved then that's another story. But true supporters will back their team even in the roughest of times otherwise you're just another glory hunter; it makes those 'successful' times more special and meaningful knowing that you never jumped ship! It's possible though to have a second team that you support, but 'your' team will always be 'your' team, or at least it should be.

could be different though, in different countries (maybe a cultural thing?), but I don't know anyone in England yet who has changed their teams....Maybe some of my Villan mates will after today's drubbing.

i had the same feeling sometimes with Galatasaray in the past few years while it was being terribly managed and the club seem to be going absolutely nowhere. But recently its changed and its slowly slowly returning to there old self,

you cant change your team man, stick with them though the good and bad, things will change in time, or even better cap your way to a bil and take it over your self

                My team has a saying,

                'Beşiktaşlı olunmaz Beşiktaşlı doğulur'

You don't become a besiktasli (besiktas supporter) you are born one.

I guarantee even if you tried to give up Steaua Bucharest you would go back to them eventually Your with them to the end, through the good and bad.

I have most respect for supporters of small clubs, teams like Millwall, Newcastle, Altay, Karsiyaka, Bursaspor, Real Betis, Middlesbrough, Nottingham Forrest, Eskisehirspor, Bursaspor etc there is no reason for anybody to support those teams but they back their teams all the way. That is dedication, your team is a disgrace and you get laughed at when wearing their shirt in public but they keep faithfull.

                That's a true fan.

What do you mean there's no reason to support them? You tell that to Ipsvich Town or Cork City, or Dunfermline supporters and they will kill you. I can give millions of reasons and you know the #1 reason? It's called Hometown Pride.

I've been a Barcelona fan since I was 8 years old. My first football match was Barclona - Real madrid (3-0!!). Since then my love for the club only started growing. I even moved to Barcelona last year with as one of my main reasons to catch every single home match. I think once you will choose a club and love it with all your heart it will never change. You will go to hard times and good times (6 cups lol) but you will always stick with them. Not because of the players, because they once will fade away... It is because of the people behind the club, the culture. Hence the motto of Barcelona "Més que un club" (More than a club).

Now if you don't have such a connection to the background of a club. It is only logical to change teams when the players that you loved and admired are gone. The club that you used to love is no more. So don't see it as betrayal.

I don't mean it in a bad way, a guy from out of town isn't going to start supporting these teams because of the great football they play but may support them because of the fans.

I respect fans of the smaller or less successful teams the most as they arn't glory hunting.

I think it's all right to switch team to support, but unfortunately I think it's impossible. If you feel the spirit of the club that you fell in love with is gone and you like another more then go ahead and try and support it.

Steaua will always be the first team you look up the results for anyway, and that is how it is to be a supporter. I'd give up Liverpool instantly if I could since there are 40 games of horror and 2 games of joy every season, but I can't. Been with them for too long.

i cannot leave, stp supporting steaua. unlike women, u can forgive your team each time they "do" bulshit to you.

but, with this chairman of ours, it gets hard to support the team,. i dont care if they lose 3-0, i dont care if they relegate, the thing that bothers me the most is that when i started supporting steaua, thw whole feeling was different..
turkzz, u're galata fan....we know how big Hagi is and what he has done for Galata. And we also know he didnt have much success at Galata as coach.....But did your chairman insulted him on TV ? that's what our did, and Hagi is not the only legend he insulted....And that';s just a part of it all.....there are many shitty things he does, which determined ppl to stop coming at the stadium and to simply cannot identify themselves with the team as they should normally

how does the club work is the leader elected? And done the supporters protest about what's happening? if people are not coming to watch the game, the chairman wont last there long, the clubs nothing without the fans.

You can still support the players on the pitch playing for the badge.

On a different scale, we have the Glazers here who have driven United into massive debt after the takeover in 2005... today, 70% of matchday income goes straight to repaying this debt, rest goes to the Glazers pockets and investors with little being reinvested into the club itself whether it be investing in new talent or improving our grounds. It sucks having to sell players like Ronaldo and then not being able to properly reinvest it back into the product on the field. yes, we're still able to buy players, but not galacticos-types when we have this overwhelming debt over our heads.

We've got our own protest going which you may have noticed if you've seen any of the matches (green and gold campaign) to oust the Glazers with new supporter ownership. We can't really vote them out and boycotting the matches will never happen here, hence the green and gold campaign and the RedKnights group looking to buy them out.

Anyhow, the chairmans are a bunch of wankers but we still support the team and the players on the pitch.

Nothing like a bad chairman! do you have big ultra groups? the Turkish teams generally have a big ultra group each, chairman and the board fear them and when they get too big for their boots they are put in their place. They even tried to get rid of some of the ultra groups, Galatasaray old chairman wanted rid of Ultraslan but that didn't go down well. Besiktas chairman wanted to finish Carsi but when they turned out to the match and all swore at him and gave him threats he cried like a baby then when they stopped everyone going to games he got in trouble, he will be gone soon, the supporters force is very strong at the clubs.

If you have big ultra groups they can help force out the chairman.

We are starting a campaign like that here In Tampa against the Glazers as well , o man we hate the Glazers here in tampa Bay

Mihaita, you know that song by Gerry & Pacemakers "Walk on"?

When you walk Through a storm
                                              Hold your head, up high
And don't be afraid, of the dark
'Coz at the end of the storm
                                              Is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song Of the lark

                                              Walk on, through the wind
                                              Walk on, through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed And blown
                                              Walk on, walk on
                                              With hope, in your heart
                                              And you'll never walk alone

                                              You'll never walk alone

It can't be the same when you grow up, you go watch and support but the feelings are different, things change.
