I will post my picks and review for slovenian (not slovakia!) 1st league and championship matches. Today I've started with 2 championship matches that will be played tomorrow 24/3.

I will also add other picks I will play in the spreadsheet.

More info about Triglav - Maribor today (also in comment at my blog)

Many people have wrong informations about todays match Triglav - Maribor, yes, Maribor will miss Mejač and Mihelič, but Mihelič didn't play on first match either and they still won big time, Mejač is not that good at the moment so these two aren't big blows. Also, some are writing that Tavares is out for this game, this is NOT true! Tavares won't start the game in first 11, if it will be necessary coach will put him in game like an substitute, and like I said, Bunderla is very good player and is good "replacement" for Tavares.

Good to see info on various leagues here, post some picks here in the forum as well my friend.

My picks for today are Triglav - Maribor (away win) and over 2,5 goals, also I made small bet for handicap +1 on Triglav (Maribor won first match with 5:1 and they are in great form right, except goalkeeper, most of you would be better than him right now.).

My second pick is Celje - Rudar, Celje won at away with score 0:1, today they have support of their fans and they are showing great games at home, we won't see a lot of goals on this match, so maybe there is some value in under, but I prefer home win.

Another interesting game, is Gorica - Domžale, Gorica is in great form and they are really kicking ass, if they will score in first 10-15min there will be more goals in domžale's goal. This is also home win on paper, but Domžale are very unpredictable team and they can surprise, but I think today is not that day I will skip this match.

Here are my picks for Saturday, I'm posting them today because I won't be around tomorrow.

Picks for Saturday 27/3
Nafta - Rudar
Both teams had their plays on Wednesday, Nafta defeated Interblock with 3:0, Rudar lost against Celje 1:0. Nafta is currently on 3rd place, 15 points behind Koper and 10 points behind Maribor, I think that they don't have chance for first two places so therefor they will bet everything in slovenian cup,where they still have chances for Europe. They are at good (not best,not worst) form and full of confidence and they are playing at home, where they will have support of their fans, their home results are 8-2-3.
Rudar on the other side is way out of form, and their away results aren't any good either, 5-1-6. They are well place at 6th place and they don't have to worry about loosing points on aways matches, they must start winning at home court.
No injuries on both sides for now, I will post if there will be any changes.

My pick for now is HW.

Intreblock - Olimpija
This is local "derby", both teams are from capital city Ljubljana, I used quotes becaouse this is not the real derby, because both teams are quite new(old Olimpija doesn't exist no more, only name was left behind, Interblock has grown from nothing through the night). Here's no home ground advantages because this is their city, and interblock doesn't have any fans, Olimpija will have strong support of their fans called Green Dragons, some of the fans are also keeping players and others in the club that they must start getting points, they went into dressing room after match against Celje where Olimpija lost 1:3.
Both teams have their own problems, interblock didn't have any preparation for second half of the season and they are out of form, this is why they are at the bottom with only 29 points (last placed Drava has got 22 points).
Olimpija on the other hand is showing better performance from match to match but they can't score, on the last match(0:0) against Drava luck wasn't on their side either. Olimpija can't afford to loose at "home", not again, they know that there will be problems with fans again, if they don't win. Also important player Roj is returning after suspension(yellow cards).

Olimpija: Oblak, Salkič, Kašnik, Bonifacio, Cvijanovič, Roj, Škerjanc, Pokorn, Dugolin, Ibraimi, Prašnikar

My pick AW

Gorica – Maribor
No doubt that Gorica is in great form, they lost against Domžale in cup match but they had a lot of opportunities, they were out of luck I guess(I was watching it on TV), domžale had one chance and they scored. If Osterc and Demirovič(both Gorica) will return for this match, we will see a lot of goals, because Maribor has got a lot of problems with back line and goalkeeper, they receive two or more goals at every match! In this season they played 17(65%) matches over 2,5 goals, and only 9 (35%) under! I think it's quite obvious to bet on over 2,5, also small bet on over 3 can be value.
Maribor will also try hard to score one goal more than Gorica because Koper(leading team) is playing away at Celje, who is playing really well at home ground. If everything goes by plan of Maribor head Coach Milanič then after this weekend difference on the table will be only -2 for Maribor and that would mean they are still in game for championship title!

My pick over 2,5 and AW.

That is hard to predict game because it's raining all day(at Ptuj,where Drava is playing), pitch is awful and it won't get any better, I think best value is under 2,5. Koper will win that's for sure. If I will play parlay I will choose Koper HW and Gorica AW.

Koper is fighting for their first championship title and they are in great form, their game is nice to watch. I'm big fan of Maribor but when money is involved I'm respective. Koper deserves to become champion this season. In next season they will be playing on their own, brand new stadium and I think this will be good way to celebrate on new stadium.

That match was very boring, no chances, early goal, game play in the middle, few shots and that's all. I think that drava is lost for this season, they are -8 at the last place, behind Domžale. Sorry to hear that because Drava is friendly club of Maribor (20km apart).

Oh well, we earned some moneeeey after all

Sorry about that, Koper scored in 3' min, and then they pull back and defend only, that almost cost them of win, Olimpija was attacking full-time and hit two crossbars!

Koper has most effective defense so I don't know why they pulled so way back...

NK Maribor – Rudar Velenje

Like I wrote in last few blogs for tips, picks and reviews NK Maribor is fighting for championship title and if they would like to get that title loss is not an option here. They MUST win or championship will be over for them in this season. NK Maribor was playing important match this week in Celje where they showed great form and play. They were missing some important players but younger »substitutes« were very good replacements for them and this is NK Maribor's advantage against FC Koper because FC Koper is »one man team«, they have 2-3 key players without them there is no FC Koper team, neither chance for championship title, not this year.
Also NK Maribor's defense line is showing some progress over few last days, most be because head coach Darko Milanic is under pressure of fans because he did not replace goalkeeper Ranilovic with Pridigar. Ranilovic is (was?) out of form last few games, totally out of confidence in him self and this why NK Maribor received so many goals, he did not have the balls to show his main role in 5m space around his goal. In Celje he showed some nice moves and few great defenses so maybe he is getting in form, just hopping that it wont be too late.
Rudar Velenje on the other side can play without worries, they are on great (for them) 5th place and they do not have to worries about 2nd league like Drava does.
NK Maribor is playing really well against Rudar Velenje and these matches are great to watch.
N Maribor will have loud support from their fans Viole Maribor and others, it's expected that 4000-5000 fans will come to the stadium. This is a lot for Slovenian soccer league, on other games there is about 300-1000 visitors, Viole Maribor will prepare hell for Rudar Velenje and every opponent that will come to NK Maribors stadium, Ljudski vrt.
Because Maribors front line is very efficient I think that we will more that 2 goals.

FC Koper – Drava

FC Koper will be playing without Armin Karic but this is not so big blow because they are playing against last placed Drava. FC Koper is at the moment in too great form to loose such an easy win.
I also think that there will be a lot of goals, in Drava's goal, so taking over 2,5 is an option.

CM Celje – Nafta
Both of the team played this week already so both are tired, because they aren't used to Wednesday-Saturday rithem. Celje played against NK Maribor and I must admit that they showed nice game and form, they were also out of lucks with few shots (two crossbars). Championship doesn't mean that much to them, they have nothing to loose, they must beat NK Maribor in cup. I think they won't play at high level. Nafta is 3th on the table and only -1 infront of Gorica but this is all they are fighting for, for third place on the table. This will be very good match to watch, maybe it will also live streamed over the net, I will post link on the forum.
Celje doesn't have any problems with injuries or suspension, Nafta on the other side will miss two important players Zemljič and Bunc.

DRAW and over 2,5

Olimpija – Gorica

Olimpija is still without key player Roj and without Bonifacio, both suspended because of red card. They showed bad play against Koper and Interblock last week and I think this match wont be any different. Gorica is HOT at the moment, beating anyone on their way and scoring a lot of goals.
And this is where I see a chance for Gorica to get all three points from Ljubljana and continue on they successfull second half of the season.

AW and over 2,5

Domžale – Interblock
This match is important for both of the teams because they are in lower part of the table (second and third from bottom up) and they are fighting for securing their next season in Slovenian first soccer league. Yes they are +7 and +8 points ahead of last placed Drava but in Drava showed great perfomance in the end of last season so they are both afraid that past can repeat it self and that does not mean any good for them.
Domžale have all players available for todays match, where Interblock is still out of first goalkeeper Jug and important player Fink. This is big blow for them, problem with second goalkeeper showed on last match against Gorica where they recieved 5 goals!
Domžale aren't playing good at home but they are lucky because Interblock sucks at away games also so this is their chance to proff that we are wrong and they will beat Interblock.

HW + over 2,5

And something about todays match between Koper and Drava, Koper will miss important player Armin Karič and this maybe big blow for them because Drava will fight to the end trying to get at least one point.

Maribor – Rudar
Again, home win is written all over this game and I think that it will end for 3:1 for Maribor, they are playing at home and they need to give some hope to fans that they still can win the championship title, every point that will get »lost« will cost them a lot!
