Liverpool - Bolton
Liverpool -1 @ 1.72 (pinnacle)


Liverpool almost canceled the victory against Tottenham from last week after not being able to defeat Wolverhampton Wanderers, while Spurs managed to win against city rivals, Fulham. So practically, Liverpool is only 1 point closer to Tottenham than they were 2 weeks ago, not the best of deals.
Today they host another "Wanderers" team, Bolton, also with some major problems related to the relegation, but a bit more less concerned than they were a month ago, when they were 19th. Not, they are 15th, and still have one match less than most of the teams around them, so the situation isn't one of the worst for them, especially since the teams situated lower than Bolton have won, combined, 2 matches in their last 20 matches, but have lost 13. So, from Burnely, Portsmouth and Hull, the future doesn't seem very bright.
Liverpool still have chances for the 4th place; altough they are 5th, they have 2 matches more than Man City, but the same number of points, and one match more than Aston Villa, with one points more aswell. So, we may easily consider them being on the 7th position. But, there are many matches to be played in the season, 15, and in 15 macthes, things can change a lot. Fernando Torres's absence made Liverpool's odd to go higher a little bit, but they've recovered Steven Gerrard, the most symbolic players for liverpool in the last 10 years. Steven Gerrard had a poor game on his first match after his latest injury, so he is probably more determined to help his team, now, especially as Liverpool will have the fans of their side. On their side is also the recent history, Liverpool being 4-0 SU in the last 4 mactehs at home when playing Bolton Wanderers.
Liverpool won't be having any easy match till the end of the season, and dropping points at home is not even an option when they'll Chelsea, not to mention a weaker team, like Bolton.

Wigan Athletic - Everton
over 2.25 @ 1.82 (5dimes)


A not very attractive match from the Premiership, as no big teams or important team is envolved, but which I consider more than interesting, and I've found a great odd for over 2.25. Everton, one of the best teams at this moment in England, travels to Wigan Athletic, and they want to continue their good form, while the home side needs point or points to stay as far away as possible from the relegation zone.
American Landon Donovan, loaned from LA Galaxy by Everton, seems like a great transfer for the visiting team. There were rumours that he was brought to England so that the English Football Federation sees how good is the best american fotball player, as England and USA will play in the summer at the World Cup. But this was a media rumour and nothing more; Donovan played decently at the 2-0 victory over Manchester City, and was one of the best players on wednesday, when Everton won 2-0 against Sunderland. He plays an important role in David Moyes's team, now, that Everton are crossing their best form since the begining of the season. Everton has few chances to catch the 6th place, even the 7th, places hat will probably allow participation in Uefa Europa League next season, but if they keep playing like they did recently, anything can happen. Everton, however, is a huge name in the british football, with a very big history carried behind, so playing for honour should be part of the plot.
But I'm not playing Everton today, altough I think they have a big chance to win, as they play with the team that ranks #4 in the total goals (scored and allowed) table, Everton being 10th. Wigan has a terrible defense, and a decent attack, and, combined, they have 3.33 goals/match. Nor Everton is far from this number, altough #10 might seem not impressive, because they have a 3 goals/match (combined).
That's what I meant when I've said that statistics are all in favor of and over, and that I don't understand that high odd. So, i'm going to play it, especially since there are not many injured players for none of the teams.

I like your reasoning on the Wigan v Everton over. I would like the odds a lot more if it Everton were the home team but even so, the over represents an opportunity I hadn't seriously considered so far for this game so thanks for sharing. The only danger I see is that there is a chance of Wigan clamming up at home (which I feel they can be prone to) but Everton are effectively the elite team of the EPL "second division" rather than a true EPL elite team so hopefully Wigan will have a decent crack at them - if they do then it is a great bet.

Dodgy team at the moment. They are filling the space that Tottenham have occupied for the past few seasons in terms of unpredictability. You are probably right for tomorrow though.
