Do Americans actually think the USA are capable of beating Belgium?

the guys on this forum and the rest of the world seem to have totally different views on the USA team, which is weird because everyone's picks that don't involve the USA are relatively informative.

They scraped a group where 2 other teams were in dismay, Ghana had a bit of a france 2010 and Portugal were so 1-man orientated they struggled to string a pass together. That being said they still both have better squads than the USA.

Belgium have a better team than Germany on paper, they just aren't playing anywhere near their capabilities and are inexperienced but will comfortably beat USA to nil

People don't seem to understand that you can't really play any form of offenseminded football when you have a forward that is completly invisible for 60 minutes and never shows any initiative what so ever. So it all really depend on what squad Belgium fields. But if they start their best i do not see USA advancing past Belgium.

Belgium WON all their games playing nowhere near their best, and last game even with a man down playing 7 people who hadn't been starters up until that point.

Belgium is a better team than Germany? Really? Based on what? They're a solid group of individuals who haven't won sh*t as a team. Games aren't played on paper. Regarding the US, scoreboard is all that matters. Should Belgium be favored? Yes. Will it be the upset of the century should the US win? No.

the entire Belgian line up would make it into the Germany squad. they're a team of individual talents though.

Hazard has looked bad because you can't be the kind of player he is without a competent forward, and it's quite clear that his chemistry with Lukaku is poor at best and more realisticly there aren't any. Who did USA beat? A Ghana that has been in shambles this entire tournament, and 1-man dependent Portugal?

Belgium has played nowhere near their potential and yet have shown the heart even being a man down to go out and WIN all their games. And it's really only the attacking side that have suffered thus far, in terms of defense they've looked solid aside from Vertohngens brainfart in the first game against Algeria.

They start their mains with Origi and USA will very likely not advance.

It is so funny for us (europeans) to read on an american sportsbook page about soccer. Probably as funny as if you had to read our sayings about American Football.

Is Belgium better than the USA? YES.
Is Belgium better dan Germany? NO.
Can the USA beat Belgium to advance? Yes. 75% Belgium-25% USA.

The hardest thing for the USA is gonna be to score. I Don't see USA score more than 1 goal. But I see us scoring more than 1. Everybody knows it has to be better. We rested a lot of players in the last game. The players are not satisfied with their games.Hazard gave himself a 2/10 for the first 80min of his game against Russia for example. Also the press is pretty negative, but glad to win off course. Our 3 groupstage games were not good. But against Algeria (and less against Russia) we played against a wall of 10 players. That is hard for every team (watch Argentina). We only gave 1 goal away against Algeria in the first game, it was a penalty. The other teams did not got any good chances against us, except from 1 header from Kokorin in the Russia game.

Who the f.ck cares about what European think. They suck balls and are being pwned by American teams all over the place. The only decent teams from Europe this year are as usual Germany, maybe Holland and surprisingly France. The most important thing about the US team is that they are not playing afraid, as usual. USA +0.5 is a great line at close to -110.

Belgium got lucky against Algeria, should have lost to the horrible team Russia (remember that PK that was not awarded) and barely got by the worst team at this WC, freaking South Korea.

USA can beat Belgium and it wouldnt be an upset at all. Belgiums wins easily could have gone the other way. USA will beat an overrated, over hyped team imo. Very disciplined, good tactically and have some very good players.

Don't bet to heavy on columbia

They are a relatively young and inexperienced raw talented team, although Uruguay are missing their star man they still have enough experience and resilience to hurt teams and defend doggedly. So far we've only seen the Columbia side who win by 3+ goals against weak teams and were allowed to run riot, this is a different challenge all together.

having said this, i'd prefer Columbia to go through because they've been brilliant to watch.*

Beat Ghana, should have beat Portugal, could have tied Germany if losing by 1 wasn't ok. They have more than a punchers chance. Belgium is overrated. If you looked at the resume without a name on it you would feel differently.
