That's the dog? Thank god it wasn't a pitbull for once. Dogs will always be animals...I'd never leave my 2 month old alone with any dog (assuming it was left alone for a brief period of time)

2 month olds aren't really left alone period. But any dog is a stretch. There are plenty of dogs that would have no chance of ever doing any harm. People are often much more dangerous.

So reading an article about this...

Sounds like Dad laid the three year old down for a nap and fell asleep in the bed with (something most parents of young kids have done at one time or another), baby was in the next room in his swing when the dog attacked the swinging leg. Aside from taking in a stray when they had a young baby in the house, not sure I can see where this was anything besides a sad reminder that animals can turn on people no matter how sweet and kind you think they are...
