I had an extensive debate with a good friend of mine who is actually African American... I told him this was going to be bad, this Trayvon thing, that it was going to incite race wars and other senseless crimes and he thought it would be a good thing to get a race discussion going in the media and around the country.

Hopefully this is the last one we see. Can't believe those kids went home and riled up their parents to go form a mob.

Theres another story out there saying both sides were confrontational.

The white was probably upset with the black kids playing basketball near the road and called one of them the N word. Kids run off, adults come in and pound him.

He admitted saying I'm sorry, I'm sorry, which leads me to believe the white started the entire incident.

The whole this is for Trayvon is tacky, but the beating was justified from what I've read.

It's upsetting to see race relations doing a backslide over an incident which most likely wasn't about racism at all. All this because of irresponsible media who in their thirst for a hot story molded this tragedy to fit their agenda all the while basically inciting people.

What the hell are you talking about you stupid animal? The kids were probably playing basketball passed the time when it was allowed and he probably pointed that out and asked them to leave. Why do you assume he did anything wrong? 'All accounts.'

All accounts are coming from his sister... the police can't find any of the mob of animals that did it. This would be easier if they were tagged. South Africa had it right.

Link? The "I read it in another article" doesn't hold water if you don't provide links to said article. Because I just read through about 10 from different media outlets and the most I got was Owens "fussed" at the boys for playing basketball at 8:30 pm on a Saturday night in the middle of the street.

I've not seen a thing that even implied he yelled slurs, or racial epithets.

Aside from that, if we devolve into gang mob mentality every time someone calls someone a cracker, or n***er, or whatever we're screwed. This is definitely what the media at large was aiming for... they'll show outrage, if they cover it at all, and be "appalled" but this is the exact shit they wanted. Flash mobs will probably start very soon in Chicago again. This will happen just because it is summer and a mob of 50 black kids want to go rob/beat people up. I'm sure they will blame it on the Trayvon BS though.
